Gore Bike Wear Mistral Windstopper Gloves
Everything I could wish for in a winter glove for a mild (San Francisco Bay Area) climate. These work well in a temperature range of 40-65 degrees, in which the Windstopper fabric provides sufficient warmth without much bulk (i.e. insulation) at all. Much colder than 40 and i might want something a little warmer. I've tried other winter cycling gloves that were warm enough but didn't breathe as well as these, and my hands got sweaty inside them.I've had these for a little over a month, used them around 3x a week and found them to perform flawlessly. Can't weigh in on long-term durability yet but they appear to be quite well made. So far I can give them a whole-hearted thumbs-up/

Not very warm
Very thin, fit fairly tight for a medium. They are good for road rides above about 50, mountain bike rides in the 40's. The windstopper material does not insulate very well, so if it's colder out they seem to transmit the cold right thru the material. For cool (not cold) rides, they work fairly well. The low profile design helps with finger dexterity, so that shifting and braking (and pressing buttons on my iPod control) are pretty easy,

Good fit, wind proof,
Possibly good for warmer than what I anticipated. No insulation or fleece but is wind proof. I was looking for a glove to keep me warm in the 30's. Did return because have gloves to serve this purpose.

Great uninsulated gloves.
I got mine from a Gore employee, not from Amazon, but even at regular retail price these are a great glove. As others have noted they are NOT insulated, they are just a shell. They work well in cool/damp/windy conditions but by themselves they are not suitable for riding in the 30-45 F temperature range. I typically wear them for road rides in the 45-70 F temperature range and I have some thin Thermasilk liners (http://www.amazon.com/Terramar-S491-Thermasilk-Glove-Liner/dp/B002NPBTWS) I sometimes use under the gloves when I ride in the 35-45 F range but below 40 F there are better choices.I use these for road rides. I do not believe that they are suitable for mountain bike rides where some abrasion resistance is necessary. What I don't like: I'd really prefer a high-vis yellow/green color with more reflective features. These gloves are not particularly good at making the rider more visible.Gore gloves run small. My hand circumference measures ~8.5". I typically wear medium disposable gloves at work. Most of my cycling gloves are Large but I have to wear XL when i get Gore Bikewear gloves and the XL size is still on the snug side. The Thermasilk liners I use will fit inside the gloves but anything thicker is way too tight to use as a liner.
