Stainless Steel & Whisker Friendly
The media could not be loaded. I decided to replace my cats’ food bowls that were made of melamine (a super-hard plastic composite). I had a cat in the past that suffered from horrible chin acne, and knowing now that it was likely due to contact with his plastic bowls, I didn’t want to take any chances. I also wanted wider, shallow bowls - that wouldn’t bother their whiskers - and bowls that sat higher, to hopefully help curb vomiting after meals and that wouldn’t make my cats stretch their necks downward to eat.Enter CatGuru. This company offers anti- whisker fatigue bowls in both stainless steel and ceramic options (and many colors of melamine) featuring gentle ridges, and optional elevated stands (in melamine) that their bowls fit into securely.I chose the stainless steel - it can’t be broken, and there is no outer glaze to crack or chip over time. I also bought the elevated stands. My cats took to them immediately. They are 12 & 13 pounds, and are comfortable eating from the setup while either standing or sitting.I only found 2 negatives which are outweighed by all the positives. The metal is not fully smoothed at the edges, so it feels a bit pokey on my skin (not actually sharp), and the rounded cut-out on the side allowing for easier pick is too short. I am using the bowls in conjunction with the elevated stands (which have a raised lip to keep the bowls secure), and find it slightly difficult to lift them up and out to wash each morning (I have small hands). If you’re not using the stands, it won’t be an issue. The shallowness of the bowl is not a negative for me as I only feed my cats a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of dry food at a time, but I have read other reviews complaining that food gets pushed over the side. Keep in mind that these bowls are too shallow to hold water. Since CatGuru only sells melamine water bowls, I offer my cats water in a combination of stainless steel dog bowls and the PetSafe Stainless 360 Pet Fountain (which I recommend).

Worked well for disabled kitty
I don't have any cons, just pros. Worked well for a disabled kitty. We have a cat who had neurologic brain damage after surgery. He's slowly improving and we still hope for full recovery, but one big problem was feeding him. Initially I had to feed him canned food with a syringe, then by hand using a spoon. He wasn't eating independently from a bowl, or at least for only a few seconds. The bowls had non-skid bottoms, but were smooth inside and he didn't have the coordination to eat food that moved around. The design of the CaGuru bowls worked great. It concentrates the food in the bottom center. I suspect the Concentric rings also helped him visually and tactilely... he was initially blind but now has most of his vision back. The kibble was our first experiment. I didn't expect much, so gave him a small amount. He gobbled it and wanted more, which of course we were delighted to provide. The canned food, surprisingly, took a bit more time. When the kitty gets tired, his brain and body don't work very well. When he is rested, he eats the canned food quite nicely. One bowl is used for canned food, and one is for kibble. The bowls are very easy to clean and have survived drops from a 4 ft high kitty litter tree (the kitty can once again climb to a nice box cave on it and likes eating there - see the image). I also like the small cut out on the bottom edge. It makes the bowl easy to pick up and move around. Great simple design which has helped our kitty's recovery... he can eat independently with kibble available 24/7. Good nutrition, rest and time are helping him get better.

Saved my cats life!
I’m pretty sure this bowl saved my cats life! He is 16, has chronic kidney disease, no little teeth in front, and he basically stopped eating his wet food out of his bowl. I ordered this bowl in hopes to make it easier on him to eat, and now he is eating up a storm! The day I got this bowl he has been finishing off his meals and I even give him extra. It’s crucial for him to eat a lot of wet food, and this bowl was a savior.

Great for wet food.
Unless you're going to just give your cat a handful of dry food at a time, I would recommend only using these for wet food. Even when it's only got a half cup or so in the bowl, the grooves don't seem to help much and the food falls out easily. It's plastic but overall a very nice quality. They're light, but the grips on the bottom works well to keep it in place. I recommend the water bowl and bases to go with.

Good for food
I use these for my cat's food, I tried to get her to use it for her water but she doesn't seem to be able to see the water very well in these and it can't hold much anyways. For up to 1/2 cup of food it works great but the low edges mean your kitty will probably make a mess while eating. I like how easy it is to throw 1 set in the dishwasher and replace with a clean one.

Satisfied - customer service experience +++
I had these bowls for a little over month when I noticed my cat started to get weird sores under his chin and on his lip.Pros:- I really liked the two pack of bowls since I could have one washed and ready to go while using the other- I also really love the design of the bowls. I’ve struggled finding the right shape dish that my cat will eat all his food off of but it also doesn’t slide off if the surface is too flat. This is a happy medium of both.Cons:- I reached out to the company’s customer service email yesterday and haven’t heard anything back yet. They didn’t have their email on the Amazon page even though they say customer happiness is what they aim for (paraphrasing). I’m still hoping that I hear back since I’m outside my 30 day Amazon window.- the biggest con is that it gave my cat “acne” or painful looking sores on his chin and lip. If you get this, do NOT get the plastic ones!!I’m giving this product one star because of the harm it caused my cat despite the things I liked about this product. I will have to look around for a different company who has a similar design.Edit: the company responded to my email and helped me resolve this issue. I really like their product despite the cat acne so I’m going to get the stainless steel ones instead now. Thank you!

Brings more problems than they solve!
I must say I'm really disappointed in these bowls, they look cool, no whisker fatigue but tongue fatigue from chasing the food on a bowl until it falls off the edge and luckily onto a placemat (always have a rubber/silicone placesmat) and of course my senior ollie cat won't eat from behind the bowl but comes back to me to say his food disappeared and he needs more! And I had to throw the escaped food and replace. These were 30 quid, I wouldn't recommend such a shame. (Oh and not slanted)

Food gets pushed over the edge
Easy to use and the cat seems to like them. However there’s no lip on them, so she ends up eating the last of her dinner off the floor around the dish where it’s fallen. Messy!

Impressive but not sure if worth the cost difference.
Not sure if the stainless is of better quality when compared to the exact whisker fatigued designed bowl offered by big box stores but it feels heavier. Will update with weighing laterThe silicone pad it comes with is nice but I was hoping it would also fit into the catguru raised bowl support. So that when the bowl is placed on the stand it won’t scratch it but the silicone pad prevents the bowl from fitting when squeezed into the riser.Edit - ok taking off stars. Just noticed they have raised the price by $20 as of Jan 2022. Gouge ! Quality does feel better then the 7$ ones from big box plus the notch makes it sooo much easier to pick up off the floor. But cmon the price increase is almost criminal.

Very good quality but retains bacteria as it deteriorates
This is very good product. It doesn't slide on the floor, is easy to clean and is non skid. I didn't expect a plastic item to look so good for this price tbh. Ideal for wet food. My cat didn't say a word about her whiskers relief though:)I must note here that it was shipped and delivered momentarily! Shipped the same day as ordered, delivered with courier (tracked and with notification!!) the day after.UPDATE: I'm lowering the stars and I'd like to put the WARNING to cat owners. Despite the glossy surface, it is plastic and it deteriorates so it cannot be cleaned good enough after a while. I used this bowl once a day for 2 years and I regret it so much now. I cleaned them after each meal (wet food) but overtime they turned yellowish and less glossy and I couldn't clean all yellowish staining out no matter how hard I tried. I thought it's not a big deal since I wash them daily but nope it is actually big deal!! My cat got chin acne (fat chin syndrome) and they say plastic dish is main contributor to the infection because it's porous and supports bacteria growth! If you have these, don't keep them for too long! All my above comment still applies they're nice at the start... but once you see first signs of deterioration, switch to ceramic, glass, or even metal for the health of your furry buddies!

The stainless is pricey but excellent
I've never seen a cat accept something new so quickly. They usually suspect anything new might be some kind of evil human trick -- especially my new rescue cat, who took six months to fully accept the cat cave bed I had shipped in from Nepal. But this new food bowl? Walter was on it like white on rice. Whisker-stress relief must really be a thing. He only paused briefly to look back at me and say (with the look): "Why'd it take you so long to get one of these in here?" He has a point. (BTW, be sure to get the elevated stand too.)
