Great fan, but misleading marketing
Works well and very quiet, but: 1) the exhaust port is only 4", but the cowling is compatible with 6" duct work. So even if you use 6" ducts, there's still a 4" constriction in the airflow. 2) the motor is in a box that connects to a frame. Only the box can be inserted from below. The frame must still be installed from the attic. That's where the power and ducts are connected. So you'll still need to crawl around up there to install this. But, I still gave this fan 5 stars. I'm quite happy with it.

Hard to imagine a better room exhaust fan
This thing is relatively expensive for an exhaust fan so you're probably checking reviews to see if it's worth it. From my perspective it definitely is if you want a fan that does a great job drawing out shower moisture and toilet fumes and does so quietly; so quietly that sometimes it's difficult to know when it's running. I bought this model because my cheap-o builder spared all expense and put in a 3" duct. That duct limits the airflow so that the even cheaper fan that they put in could not keep up with the steam from my wife's hot showers so the mirrors fogged up all the time. I was concerned that even with a better fan the 3" duct would still keep the air flow down and it might even make a quiet fan noisy due to the restriction, but my concerns were alleviated with this new fan. I set it on the lowest of the two speeds and it works great in our 8'x9' bathroom! The speed switch is readily accessible if I want to test the higher speed later, but so far I have no need to do so. Installation was not simple, but it was not difficult either. I'm just a homeowner who does most of the repairs and updates to the house, but I'm no professional, yet I was able to get this installed and working within a couple of hours. Bottom line, if you have the coin to spare, you'll be happy with this fan.

Quiet, moves a lot of air
Update: I bought a second one. It turns on and off repeatedly. I read on someone else's review that this will happen if your timer switch doesn't have the right specs, and they named mine specifically. I'm going to remove it and put in a regular switch to test it out. I installed this in my bathroom because the bathroom fan that came with the house was the cheap builder's-grade fan. It was loud and didn't move much air. After each shower, the mirror was dripping wet and the bathroom was full of steam. After installing this, the bathroom air is clear of steam after a shower. The mirror fogs up, but not nearly as bad as before and it clears really quickly after I get out of the shower. Good choice! Installation wasn't fun because I got up in the attic with all of the blown in insulation so I could install a larger diameter exhaust st run and the fan was difficult to get to in my case. Not the fan's fault. I could have installed it completely from below if I had bigger exhaust piping already hooked up.

Pretty good fan but pitch the instructions and watch YouTube
Nice vent fan, with good fit and finish, but worst instructions ever - YouTube has installation videos that will walk you through the process. The flex bracket makes install from inside the room a bit easier and is sturdy, unlike cheaper options. Packaging is well thought out - you even get a cardboard ceiling cutout template out of the box that perfectly matches the fan housing size. The supplied screws are the worst/cheapest quality metal I have encountered in years. Pitch them and use your own or be very careful to not strip out the heads. The 8 second delay when turning it on made me re-wire twice thinking something was wrong before consulting Google. Other than that it works fine for our 80 sq ft 2nd BR. I know that sounds like a lot of complaints, but the rest is all good. Much quieter than the builder-grade fan we had and yet moves much more air. Completely inoffensive appearance. It does what it’s supposed to do. I’ll be buying a second one for our master BR next week.

Exactly what I was looking for.
It's a bit slow to get going, but is very quiet and moves air well enough for a medium size bathroom. Installation was very easy, partially due to having attic access from above. Still the mounting hardware was a huge step up from the old fan this was replacing.

Way better then the old Nu-tone.
Super quiet. Has a slow start. I can feel it pulling air through the closed bathroom door. Installed a few of these for friends and family.

Truly Whisper quite and very effective !
It is truly whisper quite! However, the air movement is well beyond the fan it replaced. It takes a few seconds to reach operating speed, you will think it's not on, but when it reaches operating speed, it works great!

Great fan
Great exhaust fans. Adjustable CFM is nice

This Panasonic exhaust fan continues the brand’s well-known quiet performance — it runs smoothly with very low noise, which is exactly what I was looking for. The three adjustable airflow settings are a great feature and make it easy to choose the right ventilation level for different situations. For installation, I went up into the attic to get everything properly set up, and the result was excellent. The fan works efficiently, feels solidly built, and delivers consistent airflow. Overall, a reliable and high-quality exhaust fan that I’m very satisfied with. Highly recommended!

I was surprised by the size although I measured it before the time. I had one concern, the old one was just screwed in place on one side of the beam and then sealed in place with the ceiling finish and this one was bigger and heavier. This concern was gone very quick when I see they included a hanging frame that was adjustable and I could extend it from the current joist to the next one and secure it that way. The whole installation was very quick and well documented (although the font text is small). Set it to max airflow and once all was done, clipped in the face plate, turned on the circuit breaker and flip the switch. Silence.... to only realize it actually has a soft start and running at full speed was so quite you could barely hear it. Checked the flow outside and sure was working great. Way better then the box cutter build engine they had in there. Highly recommend this.

It is really quiet. You don’t even notice it is on. It works perfectly that I don’t see foggy mirror any more. I set it to 100 CFM. It has 50/ 80 option. Had profession to install it. and it took some time but it was not too hard to install per se.

3 different settings, and they all work perfectly. Im using it on mid setting, and its fairly quiet. The actual fan works like a dream. Ive had many guests cause crimes against humanity on my toilet, and there is zero smell shortly after. Works great with showers too. Only downside is that you cannot adjust the settings once its installed. Unless you remove it
