Essential reading.
Gave it to a daughter who initially was very sceptical. Changed mind through 180 degrees!

Eye opening
Asked questions of ChatGPT and GPT4 I have not thought of asking. Talks about how stochastic fill in the blanks can give rise to more complex intellectual activity. Raises philosophical questions about what it means to be human and how we should collaborate with AI as they play more important roles in our lives.

Would have benefited from more clinician input
Just in the prologue, norfloxacin, licensed since 1983, causes a novel adverse event and then nivolumab and cetuximab are offered as options in a patient with myeloma (wow!!!), which then magically transforms to melanoma in the next page. I appreciate it’s a hypothetical vignette, but why didn’t the authors bother to check its plausibility with an actual Oncologist? After such a sloppy intro, can I trust anything in the rest of the book?

A GPT-4 Sales Pitch
This book is about GPT-4 and nothing else. It has quite a few transcripts from chats with GPT-4 but one does wonder about all the other transcripts that didn't make the cut. It tries in one section to be a bit objective but sadly isn't. No mention of any other AI technologies. Worth a read but not as good as I hoped.
