I did not use it on petri dishes so maybe it works for that. But as a tree dressing? Junk. I planned to use it to wrap my tree's damaged bark, but learning that it is not gas permeable, it would bring about bacteria if it even lasted that long. This item is just narrow plastic wrap. Yeah it went down onto the tree easily but quickly started to unravel. It is not thick enough. It is not tacky. Squirrels were scratching at it, so it failed within a week and would require reapplication. I made a second purchase of a proper parafilm which is semi-transparent and sticky and is holding up weeks after use. Moreover, the tree can push new growth through, so I'm told.

It works fine. Grafting tape seems to wrap a little easier and tear cleanly, and I know it still allows oxygen through.

Every now and then you just need some parafilm. This is reasonably priced strong yet flexible. Very nice.

I thought this would be a waxy (paraffin) tape. Cling wrap would’ve done the same thing.

I use this to ship trading cards. It is important not to expose trading cards to any achieve to prevent damage. Many people use painters tape. I prefer parafilm.
