I first heard of Shasn on Kickstarter (via BGG) but was initially uncertain. However, after playing it with my gaming group, I was thoroughly impressed. The game is beautifully presented, with a stunning box and high-quality components, making it an ideal gift. But Shasn isn't just about looks; the gameplay is incredibly engaging and fun. The board features a fictional city, and the game cleverly mimics real politics, encouraging players to answer questions based on what voters want to hear. It's a blend of area control, party game, roleplay, satire, and political statement. Games last at least 2 hours, filled with constant interaction between players. The modular board, variable player powers, and over 100 policy cards ensure exceptional replayability, with each session feeling fresh and exciting. Shasn is one of the best political strategy games I've played, offering deep, thought-provoking insights while being immensely fun. Shasn also has a good community going here in India with players self-organising Shasn nights/tournaments in different cities. So I can now just carry my Shasn board to a cafe nearby, meet other players and play the game. I wish more games had this. Shasn is a great addition to my game collection. It perfectly balances substance and style, guaranteeing endless enjoyment. Me and my gaming group love playing this game with new players and with old ones. It brings a lot of laughs to the table, every time!

The cards got a little damaged during shipment. Nothing bad, but maybe the shipment can be improved by Amazon. The game is brilliant and I am really excited about playing with a larger group of friends.

The most striking feature is the box itself, which looks and feels gorgeous. - The board and player mats are made of high-quality cardboard and all the cards are very good to the touch. - The resources and voter tokens are made of sturdy cardboard with a polished finish. - Note that this edition does not have voter pegs or a double-layered board. That comes with the more expensive Presidential Edition (which is a true 10/10) Gameplay: 10/10 - Shasn is a truly addictive game. In my opinion, this is the best Indian board game on the market. Compared to other Indian board games which feel a little simplistic and dumbed down, Shasn feels more intelligent and feels topical every time I have played it. - The core mechanics of the game are area control and resource management. You earn resources by answering policy cards and trade resources with other players so you can buy voters. This is where a lot of fun trading and bartering happens. You put down voters in different areas to capture them. This is where intense competition comes in. - Conspiracy and Headline cards create a lot of intrigue and provide just the right sprinkle of luck and chance, while keeping the game largely strategic. Art and Presentation: 9.5/10 - This is the one of the most beautiful games in my collection and I keep it on display at the top. - The box art is modern and gorgeous. The typeface and graphic design is sleek. - The character illustrations of the Capitalist, Idealist etc. are also very aesthetic. Support: 10/10 - The customer support and support team is very responsive. I have messaged them on Instagram and gotten speedy responses. - The Shasn whatsapp community is incredible. All game related questions and doubts will get answered by other players almost instantly. You can also find other players in your city to organize games. There is also a good How to Play video that teaches the game clearly and comfortably. Cons: - You have to set some time aside to learn the game. But once you learn, it's pretty straightforward. - The games are 2-3 hours long usually. Overall: 9.5/10 - No game is perfect, but Shasn comes pretty close. I’ve already spent around 20+ hours with my copy of Shasn and am still hungry for more. Highly recommend it.

I have never been a hard-core board game lover, but Shasn has totally changed my perception. This game is a masterpiece, especially for those who are politically opinionated. At first, the game can be quite challenging to grasp due to its complexity, but that is what makes it so captivating. Once you get the hang of it, it's not easy to step out of the loop. You go through a whirlwind of emotions throughout the course of the game, making every session with friends or family a unique experience. One of the things I absolutely love about Shasn is the attention to detail. The makers have ensured that even the small components, like providing good quality Ziploc bags to store the tiny pieces separately, are top-notch. This level of detail enhances the overall gameplay experience, making it more organised and enjoyable.

It is a good game but it is very time consuming. Also, it is very difficult to get started. Not for teenagers or old folks.
