Should be ok. The range is about 15 feet

It looks as you see it, a,nd yes it can be velcroed on

the sensors are just less than an OZ, so will not damage. As long as you have metal stems you should be fine. For better performance, you can take a look at SRTP400 with the new internal 90 degree stems.
