Arrived in different package and does not taste as mole
Bought it based on reviews, was happy to try, but flavor is like peanut sauce. Package was even different, disappointed that can not return.

A bit of work but an amazing taste once I figured out how to use this Pipian Rojo Mole Paste
I love to cook a variety of international cuisines and have had mole at restaurants at least once but never managed to do all the work to make it at home so this paste seemed like a quick road to a tasty meal. And it was. Kind of. The mole paste came sealed in a mylar bag with a zipper top, which implies to me that you might not use it all at once. However, the packaging had only vague instructions. Unopened package had an expiration in 2025 but an opened package is another story. I cut open the package and immediately got a strong lovely spice smell. But there was a thin inner bag and when I touched it there was paste on the outside. Once I lifted out the inner bag, I saw that it had split at the bottom so the double bagging was definitely a good idea. I took out the inner bag and mixed 1 c. of hot chicken broth with 1/2 cup of paste in a glass measuring cup trying to break up the paste. Not much luck. The instructions said to mix in a pan and heat, so I put it all in a pan and really mashed with a spoon and after a lot of work, it was mixed well and cooked. I wasn't quite ready for dinner so I took it off the heat while I fixed some rice and seared about 1.75 pounds of boneless chicken thighs. After searing, I removed the chicken thighs and deglazed the pan with some white vermouth (what I had handy) since they stuck. The mole was now too thick so I stirred in some water and then added to the deglazed pan. I added the chicken thighs back into the sauce and simmered, covered, for about 10 minutes per side. Served with buttered seasoned rice. Oh my! This was tasty!! I wish the package had better instructions but I figured it out. I would say the bag has at least another cup or so of paste, so I sealed it up well and put it in the refrigerator and will use it over the next couple weeks. Getting 3 meals out of the bag makes the price reasonable. It would have been 5 stars for taste and quality but between lack of instructions and the inner bag splitting, I knocked it down to a 4. Definitely worth trying though. Spice level was moderate. I don't like hot foods and this was pleasantly zippy but not at all too hot for my taste buds.

Easy Mole
This is the traditional type Molé sauce. Not as common as the one that includes chocolate. It’s spicy and slightly nutty. All you do is add water and simmer. You add more or less water, depending on how thick you like it, with a recommendation of two parts of water or broth to one part of this powder. And that’s the beauty of it! I can make a little for just myself, or I can make more for a group of us. Very tasty

Authentic PREMIUM Gourmet Mole Pipian Rojo
Who doesn't like trying new foods? I know I do, so the chance to try some Mexican mole was too hard to pass up. Note while I did receive the product for free, I do have to pay income taxes on the full value of it. My review is based solely on the product itself, nothing more.I have tried several varieties of Mole from Yerbano and enjoyed all of them. This arrived well-sealed with an expiration date sufficiently in the future stamped on the package. There is an outer resealable packageand inside packet. Definitely enough to make multiple meals. I have had mole a few times at a Mexican restaurant and I know it is time consuming to make authentic mole so I appreciated this shortcut. Just mixed this with chicken stock on the stove top. Cook and taste - you may need to add more liquid or mix depending on your taste preference. Easy. In terms of taste, this is a red mole - not a brown like most mole's you see. So not the taste of chocolate on other moles but still quite flavorful. I made it with some roasted chicken and it provided a nice variety of different flavors and spices. I would recommend

Very strong Peanut and Sesame Flavors - Messy Packaging
This has a very strong peanut and sesame flavor to it - very strong nutty flavor overall. It also has tomato, but I don't taste much of that, and it isn't very spicy (very mild heat).Instructions tell you to heat this over medium heat, but I would suggest medium-low stirring constantly to prevent burning it.It's packaged in a pretty messy way. There's a sealed bag inside the main pouch, but it was sealed with the product on both sides of the seal, so there's grease/oil smeared on the inside of the main bag.The pouch is also hard to dispense and measure from, mostly because the mix is pretty thick, and it's separated, so it needs to be stirred. It would have been so much easier if it came in a tub instead.Ordered January 2023Exp December 2026Made in Mexico
