Money well spent!
Ok let's be clear this set is no where near a weaver quality set. BUT that being said its a really nice set for the money. We build various types of high end firearms but most are set on the 1911 or AR platform. I picked up this set to work on a S&W M&P ( should be called POS) but not the point. I was not willing to risk my nicer punches on this horribly made and designed AR so I ordered this. I am extremely happy with the purchase and a little extra surprise is it comes with a punch size that usually has to be purchased separately for use in 1911 trigger jigs for upgrading components to Caspian trigger/sear internals. Huge plus. I have to say I highly recommend this punch for everyone from garage builders to pro gun smiths. It was very affordable and of course backed by Winchester. As far as bending punches there isn't a punch made that won't deform there are only people with little patience and heavy hands. Building fine guns is like creating a fine wine in reverse . You stomp the hell out of the grapes but everything there after that is patience and finesse. When building worth while weapons you must have patience and finesse that way some guy can beat the heck out of it and still get to savor a perfect target interdiction. This is a great tool set and I am confident it will be around the shop for years to come.

A well made and well designed kit that is useful for amateur gunsmiths and mechanical tinkerers
A well made and well designed kit that is useful for amateur gunsmiths and mechanical tinkerers. As other purchasers have pointed out, this is for gently tapping out pins, not punching out rivets or driving spikes, so bending or breaking a punch is probably your bad, not the kit's. I've used mine enough in a couple of months to realize I should have bought it a long time ago. The included tough plastic rods have been handy for drifting adjustable sights and the dual-faced hammer nicely weighted for most work. Only two minor niggles prevented me from giving it five stars: (1) A 3/32 brass punch (or two) would be a lot more useful to me than the giant 9/32 and 5/16 brass sizes, and (2) the unitary hinge and clips on the blow-molded case, like all their type, will certainly crack and fail eventually, so you may want to pre-emptively reinforce them with duct tape (I did).

Cheap but effective!
This is a great little punch set for DIY gunsmithing. I use this set all the time for drop in upgrades, armorer takedowns for cleaning, and to change out sights. It works great and has all the sizes needed for general use with all my handguns, rifles, and shotguns.Keep in mind this is an inexpensive set, and probably will not hold up to much abuse or anything above light duty use. But if you need a cheap little set to do firearm mods, or drop in trigger jobs this will definitely fit the bill. If you need a heavy duty set this is not it, spend the money and get something else. It comes with a nice little molded plastic case to keep all your punches in one place. It would make a handy set to keep in the truck or range bag in case you run into a malfunction and need to takedown your firearm.

Consider Before Using for AR Builds
If you're using this for just one AR build or on soft metals, it should do the job, but the mettle on the punches isn't the hardest and starts to deform if there's much resistance from a hard metal. It did the job for mine, but I wouldn't trust many more builds before the smaller pins are unusable.

brass punches are OK, steel ones came bent. One snapped.
I kinda expected a bit more, but it will work.No oil on any of the metal in this kit, so the hammer was already rusting. I put a light coat of oil on the set. The brass punches are pretty decent, but a bit soft. Expect deformation from use. The hammer is basic but it works and isn't too heavy, which gives you a good degree of control. The 1/16 steel punch was bent and snapped off when I tried to straighten it a bit.Harbor Freight drift punches are higher quality than the metal punches in this set, but the brass ones do the job. Not bad for a low use cheap set. The case is not the highest quality but it keeps everything together and isn't too flimsy.
