1 500g PACK of CHROMATIC ALGINATE (colour changing white-pink-white, fast setting)

BabyRice Alginate is a high grade colour change 3D mould impression powder - and is totally safe for use on even the newest newborn skin as the alginate's main ingredient is seaweed! It conforms to British safety standards BS 4269 Pt.2:1991 & ISO 1563:1990).

Each 500g pack will create up to 6 hand/foot impression moulds for a newborn baby and 2-3 hand/foot moulds for a toddler aged 3. 2 packs (1kg) are usually needed for an adult hand cast.

Each pack comes with basic instructions for water to powder ratio mix.

NOTE: PLASTER IS NOT SUPPLIED WITH THIS ALGINATE, THIS ITEM IS FOR THE ALGINATE ONLY. Once the impression mould has been made, you need to make your cast within 15-20 mins, as the alginate will start to break down and deteriorate. If immediate casting is not possible, the alginate mould should be sealed in a polythene bag along with a damp cloth.

MIXING
Mixing Time: 1.30-2 mins from the moment alginate makes contact with the water
Setting Time: 30 sec at 30ºC (warmer water makes setting quicker, colder water makes setting slower)
Skin should be lubricated with petroleum jelly to protect hair growth.

If mixing 500g alginate or more, always sprinkle alginate into water for mixing. Have extra water to hand if needed.

IF YOU HAVE PINK PLASTER: do not worry, when using Herculite II plaster, the cast will always turn back to white when it has dried.
