Great open ended toy for kids
I love that my niece can be so creative with these magnetic connectors, I definitely recommend getting the bigger set. I love that they come with their own storage bin. These are good quality connector toys that so far have held up nicely to a three year old i highly recommend getting these, your kids will love building their own structures and discovering all the cool shapes they can make.

Not able to stand and build
These magnets are not strong enough to support the weight of 3 pieces

Decent Set with Nice Storage Bin
We have several sets like these that all seem to be the same except for colors and whether they come in a bag or a plastic box. The magnets are okay but not very strong, probably so they can't hurt a child who gets a finger between two magnets. You can build small things, but nothing too elaborate without taking great care, because bumping them will cause them to be skewed or fall apart. The pieces are all very much smaller and somewhat weaker than the older SmartMax sets of similar design that we have. This PicassoTiles set is similar to all the other sets, except the pieces have a textured surface. That may make them slightly easier to hold onto, but also more difficult to clean. This set does come in the nicest box of all the smaller sets. I would go with the 100 piece set. It doesn't seem like as many pieces as you would imagine. I don't think you could do much at all with the 50 piece set.

Structures don't stay...fun but not great

Fun STEM toy!
We have several sets of these types of building toys with the rods and spheres in my pre-kindergarten classroom and this set is hands down the best quality! The magnets are the strongest of all the ones we've tried and they hold together very well. The pieces themselves are very sturdy and have a good weight to them compared to other similar toy sets. The set is also great because it has so many pieces, so many colors and comes in a nice little storage box with a handle.Building toys in general are not only extremely popular with the kids, but also great for teaching STEM concepts! My students absolutely love these and seeing all the interesting ways they can connect them and unique shapes and structures they can come up with. Even with stronger magnets, depending on how the kids connect the pieces, if there is too much weight on their structure, it tends to collapse. This is a great opportunity for teaching about support for structures like buildings and bridges! I also use these to teach 3D shapes with my students. One of the things the kids love about these is that they can twist, spin and move the pieces while they are attached. They love making windmills and flowers and spinning them on the ball. These are also good for teaching about magnets and positive and negative poles, as some of the rod pieces push away from each other and some stick together.I highly recommend this set! Picasso Tiles is a fantastic brand in general with quality comparable to other name brands anduch better prices!

Visually interesting magnetic blocks -- great set for toddlers
I got this set of magnetic blocks for a 4.5-year-old girl. It is a 50-piece set of four different shapes (cylinders and balls) in a variety of bright colors that one can use to make all sorts of things by using magnets to connect them. She loved it! In 45 minutes, she made a house and then a castle. The castle looked surprisingly like the house except with a short tower at one end. Then, she made a beaver dam. Bedtime loomed so she disassembled the dam and put all 50 pieces back into the plastic box it came in. The box has a handle and she was able to carry it over to her shelf and stash it there until she is ready to play with it (probably tomorrow since it is new). The mother thought the plastic box was the best feature as it made cleanup a snap (and no magnetic blocks to step on barefoot).I do not know if these blocks integrate with other magnetic toy sets (e.g., MagnaTiles, etc.) but I would be interested to hear from other reviewers who may have knowledge of that. I think this set is great for a toddler but I read some of the designs on the sample sheet require multiple sets. So, we did not show her the sample sheet to avoid frustration. Older children will likely want more than the these 50 blocks almost immediately.
