I use this for scaring away feral cats, trash monkeys, Mormon missionaries, and Jehovah's Witnesses, and it works a treat. So far only the feral cats have risked being on the business end of the trumpet a second time. It's quite loud if you push the plunger like you mean it.

I have two small dogs and have a lot of cayotes, hawks and owls so when we go out at night I take this with me to scare them away.

I have 2 Russian blue cats from same liter. I've tried everything to keep them off the kitchen counter (waster spray, scat mat) this by far gets their attention. Don't waste money on tiny air compressor horn. This works great.

I have a cabin in the wilds of Maine, and this air horn has been amazing at alerting local wildlife to our presence to avoid encounters. It's also always ready since it is manually operated and doesn't run out of pressurized air when you REALLY need it! I have successfully avoided two moose encounters by blowing the horn. Once, I was walking and came across a moose in the road and blew the horn, thus allowing the moose to walk away instead of being startled by us walking up on it or being super curious about us. The other time, I had two juvenile moose in my yard, and I quickly shooed them away with a quick blast of the horn. I love that this is a non-lethal method of wildlife safety management!
