SUPER-bright! Easy install and fit old ballast from 1986
These are super-bright! I replaced all 8 of my tubes and these were a HUGE difference in brightness. WOW. Suntan bright. LOL. These were real easy to install in my ballast from 1986. They look to be high-quality. Time will tell. Not heat produced from these LED's. Great value, considerably cheaper than others I saw. I will update later for lifespan.

Replaced old bulbs nicely
Just plug and play, no modifications needed for our old light fixture's. No more flickering of the old light bulbs, brightened up an otherwise dark basement. They turn on instantly when the switch is hit.

No need to remove the fluorescent ballasts
Five stars for the ease of installation... these 4ft. LED lights plug right in and work great. They were bright, too.

Bright and white
I have 12 - 4 bulb florescent units in my basement. In some, the ballasts were getting old and bulbs were needing replaced. I intended to go with LEDs a while back, but it just seemed the tech for these kinds of bulbs were not quite what I wanted yet. the bulbs were getting dimmer and duller so I thought I would check on the LEDs again. I was looking for something to replace the 6500K 2180 Lumen bulbs I had in currently. My browsing around showed that most LED replacements were 18 watts and "equivalent" to the 40W fluorescents. Most watt/lumens comparison charts pretty much shows these were much less lumen than what I had in my florescent bulbs. When I found these, I thought this is good. More lumen and almost as "bright" color-wise. I bought a pack of 12 first to see how they would work. I did the wiring to by-pass/remove the ballast. I saw no sense in leaving the ballasts connected and using unnecessary electric. Simply cut the wires off at the ballast, remove the ballast, reconnect the hot to the wires on one end and the neutral to the wires on the other end. Placed in the new bulbs. (As a note here, I hate changing this double prong kind of bulbs. I have never found the trick to getting them in and out easily. The reason for star rating on these new bulbs is simply because they were no easier or harder to put in than any other florescent bulb.) The bulbs have a very clear plastic surround making them very break resistant. Once I had one unit done, I flipped the switch and to my amazement, they came on. The contrast to the old lights was night and day. I never realized how dull the old lights had become. I ran them for a few weeks to see if they would keep running. They did and I order the remaining 36 I needed. Once I had those in, things were very nice and bright. More lumens per bulbs and even whiter than the 6500K fluorescents ever were. Things are so much more colorful and brighter that I don't think I need my cataracts removed for some time. More money savings! These bulbs are about 3 times as expensive as regular fluorescents, so I am hoping that they hold up to their 50,000 hour life span. We shall see.

Direct replacement.
I’m trying these as a direct replacement in an old style housing, they fit perfectly. They do have a slight delay in startup but better than the old lamps. Even light pattern through the refract cover, much brighter than standard light tubes. These run at a minimum of 16 hours a day so I’ll see just how long they last.

Work just fine-Type B bulb
The LED replacements for regular fluorescent tubes advertise a years-long life span; I converted all my home fluorescent ceiling fixtures (21 in all) to LED-type B fixtures. The Type B fixture has only one powered end (positive & negative); the other end is a dead "tombstone". The typical average wattage use for my old lights is about 150 watts per unit. So the wattage used if all are on is 21 x 150 watts or 3150 watts of electricity. The change over to the LED tubes puts the wattage used as 21 x 18 watts or 378 watts so it is a big savings if all the tubes are on. The LED tubes are so bright that I actually only use one tube in each unit. In my change over to LED tubes, I used Hyperion LED tubes purchased from Amazon. They were installed 5 years ago and today 20 tubes are working just fine. One tube burned out (shorted out?) a month or so ago. Hyperion LED tubes are no longer available from Amazon. It is now confusing to find replacement LED tubes because some are powered from both ends of the unit just like the old fluorescent tubes. These tubes are labeled type A. Others are tubes that are powered only from one end known as type B which are harder to find. The third type is labeled type A&B. I bought one of these from Ace Hardware and it did not work in my type B unit. The JESLED unit from Amazon is labeled type A&B. The online description of the unit shows how to install it in a type B unit and the description matched how my LED units are set up. I took the chance that these tubes would work. I installed it as per the supplied diagram and it worked just fine; just like the Hyperion tubes. I could not buy just one tube from Amazon; the smallest lot available is a 4-tube set. So I now have replacements, which is a good idea anyway. The LED tubes arrive very well packaged in individual tube boxes within a very sturdy exterior carton. I highly recommend the JESLED product.
