The seller emailed me and said it is 25 watts. That helped me know I could get away with using this 200W voltage transformer (for use in the USA), which is much cheaper than higher watt transformers. Not being able to read Japanese, I can't confirm by looking at the natto maker that it is actually 25W, but I have been using it successfully with this transformer for a month. I suspect it wasn't really necessary, but wanted to be safe. What size (quarts, liters) is the bowl which fits inside the machine?

If you were to fill it right to the top, it holds 1.3 litres, or 5 1/2 cups, but that is impractical. You probably would not want to make more than about a quart or a litre. I have made both natto and yoghurt in it. When I make natto, I use 1 cup of beans, which doubles to 2 cups after soaking. 2 cups of natto is so much that I usually end up freezing some of it, because it lasts me a couple of weeks.
