minutes ago literally just received the Doheny duo cutting board set . As the well designed packaging states Your collection just got Upgraded . This is so amazingly beautiful . Craftsmanship . Skilled Artisan . Master Woodwork . And it was on Sale. near complete perfection not a single scratch . a minor scrape not enough to complain about . This board is too nice to cut directly on it , i am one of Those who squeams at blemishes and scratched surfaces on my flatware, glassware, stemware, cookware. --you get the idea . Still I will layer with wax paper or a silpat to protect from scratches . The price is more than fair . Honestly not to give Sonder any ideas Anywhere else they would price this set for Twice as much . Boos level for a lot less . And that other high end that is not Boos . Which is Three times as much in cost for any size . You know who it is. Dare I say Beyond On Par. Hefty Weight . Solid Construction . This board set is by no means hollow or lightweight . I’ve had this cutting board for about a month and it’s holding up really well. The striped wood pattern looks great on the counter and it feels sturdy and well made. It has a nice weight to it so it stays put when I’m chopping. The small rubber feet on both sides keep it stable and I like that one side has a groove while the other is flat. The surface was smooth right out of the box and didn’t need any sanding. I haven’t oiled it yet and it still looks great after regular use. Solid buy.

What a great cutting board!! The first thing to know is that a natural wood cutting board requires maintenance including regular oiling with food grade mineral oil and/or board butter. It also requires you to train other humans in your home that the board must always be hand washed, towel dried, and left to air dry. Never, never, ever should it be left in the sink under (or partially under) water or go in the dishwasher because water, and especially the dishwasher, are destroyers of wood. This board is substantial so it sits firmly on the counter without moving or spinning. The grooves on the side make moving the board super easy. The cutting surface is super smooth although it has scratched a bit over the past 4-6 months of fairly regular use. I don’t see this as a negative because the board is wood and I use sharp knives. It is large enough to prep multiple items at one time. The little pockets on one side are nice to keep small quantities of herbs and veggies separated during meal prep. The board is beautiful and it doubles as a charcuterie board and the little pockets are great to hold whatever goodies we are serving. It is also too large to be dumped in the sink and left to drown, which is good for it’s longevity. I have had zero problems with warping or splitting because I have trained the other humans at my house to never put the board in the dishwasher and take time to maintain it.

Overall, very nice heavy cutting board that comes in nice presentation packaging, however the striped effect is caused by the use of both heartwood and sapwood. Heartwood is more appropriate for a cutting board because it is denser, moisture resistant, and more stable. It is naturally more durable than sapwood, particularly in heavy use as a cutting board. A little better for decoration than daily use.

I typically only do reviews for terrible product to save others the trouble BUT THIS CUTTING BOARD is SO BEAUTIFUL, so well designed, so clean and well put together. And also serves its purpose in being a great cutting board. From the moment you see the box and the wrapping, with such care, it feels like a Christmas present has arrived! I am already thinking of who I could send to as Christmas presents. Great craftsmanship and functionality. I am usually a “nothing on the counter” person but this will be prominently displayed. Also contains great directions on care to maintain its beauty. Wonderful product. Best blind purchase I have made in years!

Absolutely stunning. I used one side to carve and the other side to serve hors d’oevres. Beautifully finished. Nice and heavy. Came in a beautiful protective box.

Have been looking everywhere specifically for an end grain cutting board (the end grains move apart when slicing usually) made out of walnut (softer than maple so gentler on knives) that has drip grooves (meats and fruits spills annoy me) on one side for my growing collection of Japanese knives. The 3 little cutout compartments on the other side were icing on the cake. Also, I didn't want to pay the world for it. This board seemed like the perfect fit! Have ordered some food grade mineral oil for this board to help look after it and hope it lasts for quite some time as it would be a pain to warranty it in Australia!

The reason I bought this cutting board was that I got fed-up with my plastic cuttingboards that were not stable (warped) on the counter top. So I decided to return to a wooden cutting board. As soon as the teak board arrived, I needed to restrain myself not to immediately start using it. So I spent a few weeks adding tung oil 5 times and then a finishing beewax layer. It ended-up beautifully. Now my Japanese supersharp knives have an adequate base to work on. I am 76 now, so this board will easily outlive me, but since my children love to cook, it’s no problem. For the occasional small side chopping boards, I reinstated my 50 year old round chopping boards. All my plastic chopping boards have been gone now.
