If you are looking for a really long sock or if you have large calves and need the extra width, then these are great hose for the money. I ordered the 2XL size thinking that was the best way to ensure that they weren't too tight around my calves. The foot is way too big, meaning the heel is actually up around my ankle, but it isn't noticeable. They go all the way up over my kneecap, which is OK too, as it is easy to fold them down and back up, making the top appear to be "chunkier", like a thick wool kilt sock would be.Overall they were comfortable, wearing them all day for judging the Highland Games heavy athletics. I picked up a bright blue and a bright red, and the color is very vibrant. Washing them (even on hot) didn't shrink them at all or alter the colors. I'd purchase these again, although maybe opting for the XL next time to see if the foot fits better.

Not only did they arrive on time, the socks were and are absolutely beautifully made, with a subtle pattern at the top. The length is fine, albeit a tiny bit short but not enough to warrant going a size up, taking the chance of the heel being too much fabric. Excellent company!

Left sock is bigger than the right. However, the right sock fits perfectly. They come to the knee. I thought they were cotton but not. Will return.

It would be nice if they were produced in "long" sizes. I had to order a size larger to accommodate my height which left the foot of the hose oversized. I am attempting to remedy that by cold washing the entirety of the hose, and then hot drying the feet with a blow dryer in hopes that they shrink to a comfortable size. Otherwise though, I'm happy with them.

As part of a collection of different colors, helps make my kilts pop when I wear them, especially to work.
