Aurifil 2024 Mako 50 Wt 100% Cotton Thread, 6,452 Yard Cone White

I switched to using Aurifil thread over a decade ago. The quality is top notch and the 50wt thread makes my 1/4 inch seams accurate. Wing able to buy this thread in cones makes this a true good value. The variety of colors is amazing and it’s resistant to tangles and breakage. Aurifil works well in my vintage Singer Featherweight, Singer 15-91 and my Singer 285k sewing machines as well as my modern Janome sewing machines. It’s made in Italy and it’s the best on the market!

Great thread. However, if you don’t mind the lint getting on your presser feet or inside the machine, that’s the only drawback of this thread. You just have to get used to cleaning the machine that’s all. Otherwise my Bernina machine loves this thread.

Aurifil thread is very good quality thread. I bought the cone size since I use white all the time. It ends up being a better investment.

I am a quilter who switched from another brand to Aurifil thread after purchasing a new Elna sewing machine. The dealer told me that the reason my old machine had so much fuzz gathering around my bobbin was because of the thread I was using. She recommended i switch to Aurifil or another brand that was known to have significantly less wear on the thread. I did ! This is it! And, she was right! Happily quilting along and having to clean my machine much less often!

I love this thread for both sewing, piecing quilts, and quilting. Is a bit linty so you must clean your bobbin area more frequently than with a polyester thread, but the 50wt is a versatile choice, and the Aurifil brand is excellent quality. These big cones are a terrific value.

So thin and strong. I do a lot of piercing so I buy this by the cone and never run out. You can’t beat aurifil! I also use this for green motion quilting on my bernina. Low dust. Very very good thread.

Great all cotton sewing thread. I use it for piercing quilt tops. Priced reasonable compared to individual spools of thread.
