Great Sun Shade
Fabulous. How the fabric will hold up in the summer sun I don't know yet. I will try to lengthen its life by storing it indoors during the cold season. The ability to rotate and tilt the sunshade? Priceless. Perfect size for the porch of my apartment.

Nicely designed product but….
Overall a nicely designed product… opens and closes with ease and no assembly required…. but have no idea why the company made the pole diameter too small for any base. Such an easy fix for the company to make an 1-1/2 pole… as others have mentioned I searched endlessly for a base that would accommodate a 1.06–1.125 pole but with no luck… for now I rigged the base I bought to keep the pole secure and will probably use some type of tape to make the pole wider at the area where the support screw adjusts …. also another recommendation for the company is to put an air vent/flap in the center (like other umbrellas have) to better accommodate windy conditions… definitely recommend at least a 50lb base… Considering right now there is really nothing else on the market comparable content right now to make this work….

Easy to use and gets the job done
Just what I was looking for! I have a north facing patio and needed some shade from the harsh afternoon sun. This covers the opening between the column and the wall and blocks the sun perfectly. Easy to set up and take down! 10/10 recommend.

So far, so good
I've been using this for only a few days. It's doing what I wanted it do, so I'm happy with it. I hope that continues!I bought this "umbrella" (it's rectangular so is actually a sun shade) to place near the edge of my 8' x 11' goldfish pond/water feature to provide some shade and thus some slight cooling on part of the pond, as there are no trees nearby. Without any shade, algae proliferates in the hot summer sun, and the water gets quite warm. But some shade and cooler water are also better for my two dozen fish. The fact that this umbrella is so maneuverable makes it quite useful.Incidentally, since a normal umbrella stand wouldn't work in our case, to anchor the umbrella I'm using the Dakepole umbrella sand anchor which I also bought from amazon. (It's not just for sand.) It screws into the ground and is very secure (total length 17" and it's screwed in about 12-13 inches).Back to the umbrella itself: The frame is relatively sturdy but will almost certainly not withstand heavy winds or thunderstorms. So I fold it down at night, since if it rains or the wind comes up it will (presumably!) still be there in the morning. When it gets cold, it will be easy to just take it out of the anchor and put it away for the winter. So far, so good.

Umbrella does not come with a base
I am very sun sensitive and the leasing office threatened to evict me over my balcony curtains (rude) so I bought this umbrella so I can enjoy my balcony without getting burnt to a crisp. Added plus, I can fold it up and put it away so I’m less likely to get complaints “what umbrella?” Important to know, this umbrella does not come with a base. Luckily I found a fold up base that works for me. Once folded up it’s very compact. It’s easy to set up and adjust to the moving sun. I can also flip it vertically so I can sit on my balcony in privacy and enjoy my coffee without anyone seeing me. The design is solid as long as you tighten and secure the knobs and the price is reasonable compared to similar designs. I can’t speak on wind however, I don’t get a lot of it. Overall I would buy again and I’m thinking about getting a second one for more coverage.

Pole diameter is too small (JENA 6x4 Ft Rectangular umbrella). Can't find a compatible base stand.
The pole diameter is about 1 1/16 inch to 1 1/8 inches across, which is much smaller than most of the standard bases out there. Spent literally hours trying to find a compatible base / stand. Ordered an adapter kit and returned it because the 1 inch adapter (Amazon Pick) was too small being slightly smaller than diameter just mentioned. And, because this umbrella needs to be moved frequently in practice (due to moving sun patterns and its small size), a base with wheels or one that can be easily lifted along with the pole (tightly secured) is a requirement. This makes finding a suitable base that much more difficult. I've about given up and will probably return this.[UPDATE]After working with mounting this item for a couple weeks, I've downgraded review from two stars to one star for two reasons....1) after considerable back and forth with manufacturer (inquiring if they have compatible stands) they wrote: "So sorry we don't have any suitable stands or clips for sale at the moment." It appears they don't sell and cannot recommend any matching stands for their own product.2) MAJOR DESIGN FLAW... I also researched deck-mount and handrail-mount systems and found this amazing looking item ("Rail-EZ NextGen Umbrella Mounting System"). However, with the 6x4 rectangular umbrella (the flat screen version), the controls for adjusting hight and rotation are on one side of the canvass, while the clip for opening and closing the canvass between uses is on the opposite side of the canvas. Therefore, you need to walk around both sides of the "umbrella" to open it up to a rectangle, and then adjust it. That is not possible on a balcony or common deck set up. If ALL controls were on one side of the canvass, I would have many more mounting options. : |For these reasons, we will be returning the item.

Nice study material easy set up
Very sturdy just needs a good base which I have gotten. Folds down nicely by simply unattaching the clips!
