Cole & Mason Beech Capstan A4 Pepper Mill, 120mm, Adjustable Grind Precision+ Mechanism, Beech Wood, Single, Includes 1 x Pepper Grinder

Ordered one salt grinder and one pepper grinder, but received two identical knock-off products. Note the difference in the knob on the top (and no salt/pepper distinguishing features) and the lack of Cole & Mason branding.

Maybe the cole and mason grinder would be good, but it’s not what they sent me. I received a nondescript grinder with a cheap looking grinding mechanism, no cole and mason logo and a smaller looking screw head that does not have a “P” (or an “S”). It’s very annoying that despite previous reviews complaining about this, it’s obviously not a glitch, and one might assume the seller either doesn’t care or is seeing what they can get away with.

This is NOT a “ Cole & Mason” pepper-grinder, it is an imitation. It doesn’t say Cole & Mason anywhere on the packaging or product when it arrives. Going in the bin, completely useless! Wouldn’t grind anything, mechanism awful.I’m pretty fed-up about the fact that it’s an “ Amazon Choice” as well.As they say “ If it LOOKS too good to be true, it probably IS !!

As noticed by others this is a fake item - it is not a cole and mason and gives up grinding after about 3 months but by then you can't return it. Also no S or P on top. I bought both salt and pepper grinder (both identical) and both have failed

This has stopped working after ~6 months - I can find no 'contact seller' info or any emails address to let them know - I'd like a refund or a replacement

I ordered this to match my genuine Cole & Mason pepper grinder. What arrived was a very cheap and nasty chinese knock-off that had no branding and was a completely different style to that in the photo (which is of a genuine C&M mill). It even came in plastic wrapping covered in Chinese writing, I could tell as soon as I opened the package that it was phony. The lead time on the delivery was far more than when it turned up so I can't even complain about it for another month, which I suspect is by design. Please please please avoid this product. Not only is it cheap and nasty, it's a fake and not what is advertised.

I had one of those bursts when loads of pieces of domestic equipment fail all at once (largely age-related, it must be said). I was particularly offended when my previous wooden Cole & Mason pepper mill (used every single day in the kitchen for cooking) collapsed. The only thing that was wrong with it was the metal strip fastened by two screws on the bottom, over the grinding mechanism, had sheared. I immediately looked to see if I could buy a replacement metal strip .... I then pulled myself together, reminded myself I couldn't even remember when I'd bought it (probably 25 years ago) and noted a near identical replacement was not very expensive. It arrived with commendable speed and looks almost exactly the same, except it has a useful clear varnish finish and a rather superior mechanism. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet!

Good solid pepper mill that holds a decent amount of peppercorns and is just the right size to hold without being too small or large - or too heave, s some of the larger mills can be for little hands. I thought this was reasonable value, considering it is a known brand. The two negatives I find with the product are that the silver screw on the top sometimes flies off if inadvertently loosened it over the course of a few weeks (easily done). It can also be a little tricky to fill without spilling your peppercorns all over the worktop, though it gets easier with practice. Overall, a good purchase and I probably will get the matching salt mill at some point.
