Augie the Therapy Doggie: A Tale of Becoming a Therapy Dog (Augie the Therapy Doggie Series) Paperback – January 8, 2023

As a teacher, I can’t wait to read this book to my students. There were so many great informative parts, but I especially loved reading about how Augie is able to provide calm, comfort, and love to both children and older folks.Clearly becoming a therapy dog takes a lot of training and Augie showed amazing perseverance in this true story.I was touched by the author and her reason for wanting to train her dog Augie to become a therapy dog. Her father was comforted by a therapy dog when he was in the hospital and that inspired her to train and become a team with Augie. Personal experiences are often what drive us towards doing things for others.In addition, it was nice to see Augie as a puppy and his transition into his home with his owner. All of the photographs gave a great look into Augie’s life from puppy to adult dog.This sweet story is so touching and I would recommend it to teachers, parents, and anyone who works with children. It not only takes you through the process of how Augie was trained, it shows the power that a furry friend can have on humans.

Augie's story was fun to read with my 5 year old daughter. She loved the pictures and found relating to Augie's life adventures very easy. The author will tug on your heart strings when she explains why she decided to go find Augie. She makes you feel a compelling desire to want to do the same, and in doing so, bring a little joy in to the world yourself. The author also leaves helpful links at the end of the story incase you would like to start a therapy dog team yourself.

I loved this book! I have a therapy dog, Dolly. This book is told from Augie’s point of view. The story gives a great explanation of how a dog becomes a therapy dog. The pictures were phenomenal and showed Augie from a puppy to working. I will use this book to read with classrooms to explain all about therapy dogs. So excited I found this book!

What a wonderful story of Augie's accomplishments to get to where he is today! I am a Librarian at a 3rd - 5th grade school and I am always looking for true stories about animals. The students are drawn to them and I know I will end up buying multiple copies of this book for our library! The photos that are included are great and I love how the story is told from Augie's point of view. Thank you for making so many people happy and sharing your story, Augie!

Beautiful pictures and sweet story tells how Augie found his family and became a therapy dog. In Augie’s voice, shows how people of all ages benefit from Augie’s love. Great intro to therapy dogs!

This book is a wonderful story of how a Golden Retriever finds his forever home and how he brings joy to young and old alike.The photos capture a cuddly and lovable dog that achieves a diploma to be a therapy dog to help others.This is a great addition for my library for my students in speech therapy.

I purchased this book to have kids read the book to my therapy dog and share with them what my dog's training and purpose is. Great book especially for this purpose.

As a preschool teacher I loved that Augie the therapy dog was written like Augie is telling the story. It will make it more fun to read to the kids and keep their attention. I really like the real pictures to help show kids that this is a real life working dog. It is a great short story to get kids learning about therapy dogs. I hope to get in in print one day to have at my preschool.
