This "organic" cane is awful!
I've used the select jazz reeds as my reed of choice on my soprano, alto and tenor sax reeds for at least the last 3 years, and have always been impressed with their consistency and reliability....until now. There is something about the "organic" cane they are now using that has had disastrous results for me (& I've played jazz sax for over 30 years). They play as if they are at LEAST 1-2 reed strengths softer than they are marked, the intonation is horrific and it is virtually impossible to control the tone of the music you are playing. Sadly, this isn't my first bad experience with their new "organic" reeds on all 3 saxes, and clearly there is something about this new cane that is having a disastrous effect on the reed quality and uniformity of manufacturing. They are so bad that I'm now having to experiment with different reeds of different strengths from different manufacturers to provide the level of responsiveness and performance that until now, these reeds USED to provide.

Nice Rich Sound
My son learned he needed to really wet his reeds, but he likes these the best and has asked me to re-order for jazz band, this year.
