The microwave suits our needs fine. I like the instant reheat and defrost features
The microwave suits our needs fine. I like the instant reheat and defrost features. I must say, it seems a little "tinny". I had a different LG model before and it was heavy and sturdy. This one sounds like a I said, Tinny when shutting the door. But, all works well, that is the main thing.

OK so far, but it's got some bugs...
So far, this microwave has been doing OK, (with the exception of the exhaust fan which I think has a bad switch because even though it says it is in "LOW SPEED", the volume and pitch are the same as "HI SPEED").I've had it for almost 3 weeks now, and today I started a return because it quit heating. I decided to check out the LG website for any information concerning repair help and was led to a troubleshooting guide. After going though that, I found out that it has a "Timer Mode", (where it runs, but does not heat). After clearing the screen, it started working again. I don't know why they made the timer mode look and sound like the microwave is running. My last microwave had a timer that ran independently of the microwave itself. With this one, the only way to tell it's not cooking is that it doesn't heat at all.

... 6 months ago with the matching range and I love this microwave
Purchased this 6 months ago with the matching range and I love this microwave. It does not have a timer built in and the under counter light is to dim for stove top cooking. I tried to replace the bulb with a brighter LED bulb to no avail .

Don't buy if you need it to work more than 6 months in a row! Only buy if you are looking for a novelty item for show!
This microwave was a lemon just as the reviews said when I purchased it. It was a perfect match to my stove and the price was unreal. Some people were happy with it so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best only to get about 6 months use out of it before the first malfunction. It stopped heating but still spun as if it was working, the tech came out and fixed it, with a few months it happened again and I told the company I felt unsafe having that in my house because this time it didn't just stop heating again but it was actually spinning even when it was not in use. They refused to replace it and insisted that it would be fixed so I unplugged it for safety. After waiting many weeks for the tech to finally come out this time, with my kitchen a mess because I had to use a counter top back up microwave (and we don't even use a micro as much as most yet once it is not usable we realized we do reheat almost EVERYTHING) So anyway, the tech fixed it and again within a few months it broke again. I was really glad that I didn't donate the old countertop back up microwave! We call, they ask for all the proof again (which is a great thing to have amazon for because it's always there and no searching for a paper receipt is necessary when you can print it right from amazon order history) meanwhile I'd bet they pull up your history when they ask your name address, etc and see right there when you made the purchase, etc but I followed their protocol and waited for a they said they don't believe it was still under warranty but a tech would call to confirm the problem and we waited for a tech to call, and waited and waited then they said that it was no longer covered when it was clearly within the year of the last repair but they decided to go with the purchase date rather than the repair date, when meanwhile the part replaced was the exact same part that broke just months later AGAIN and the microwave had more down time than operational time. They stink for what they did, esp being that it's clear that there were hundreds of people with the same exact problem and they seriously don't care. The microwave looks beautiful in my kitchen but it is just for show and it should be listed as a novelty item.

Well built, economy priced.
So far so good, but I've only had it a couple of months. It is a bit smaller in capacity than the one I replaced (due to a pizza fire started by my stepson) and a lot less expensive.UPDATE 7/12/16. I recommend this unit. It is well built and economy priced. 2.75 ounce Act II butter lover takes 1:55 for perfect popcorn.

Ok but not that good.
Bought this 23 months ago and it works just fine till today. LG chat suggests the magnetron failed. The microwave appears to work but the food does not get hot and the turntable isn't turning. Another reviewer had the same problem and their technician replaced a faulty relay. I hope the fix is simple. For the last 23 months it works well but it is very loud with the vent fan on even on low as others commented. Also it would be nice to turn off the turntable which you can't. Lastly, there is no timer to time your baking cookies or dinner. Our oven has a timer but often it would be nice to have two timers. I wouldn't have even believed a kitchen appliance made would not have a timer. All in all, ok but loud. By the way, the fire issue was fixed in 2014.

Five Stars
Installed easily enough, way quieter than our last one. Reheats the coffee, so guess I can't complain...
