This Dewey chamber cleaning rod is an awesome tool. It being non-rotating is perfect. Needed something like this for a while and thankfully came across this Dewey. Use chamber brushes on it, and mops and that does a way better job by far than the star tool. Don't even use the star tool anymore, this Dewey with whatever attachments you want does so much better job. It's very well made high quality. Nonetheless probably going to get another one as a backup, just in case. It's such a great tool it's become my go to, can't do without it.

So you bought a universal cleaning kit off Amazon and after a few uses, you realize about the only thing good in it is the little bottles for gun lube. Now you don't know whether to trust any gun supplies off Amazon. We've all been there. Good news: this is the real deal.This is for cleaning a chamber, not the barrel. A rod for a barrel is meant to rotate along the rifling of the barrel. This doesn't spin freely - if you turn the handle, the brush will turn. That's exactly what you want if you're trying to clean the chamber of your AR-15 (or your pistol).Works great on an AR-15 with M4 style feed ramps. Works great on a Glock 19/23 chamber as well. The chamber brush it comes with, which is meant for an AR-15 is high quality and stiff.

Chamber cleaning is 1 of the most important, but overlooked, maintenance procedures. Keep your gun, feeding properly. I have found that the stiff nylon brushes last longer than the brass ones. They seem to hold up to bore cleaners better. Clean just as well. Let your solvent soak for 10 minutes before using your brushes. Clear out loosened particles with a non-chlorinated brake cleaner, or distilled alcohol. run some dry patches/Q-tips, followed by some CLP.
