Great value for money.
I am currently studying for my RYA yachtmaster theory course and was unable to find a book that simply described the COLREGS. My tutor recommended this one because the regs are laid out as they are in law.Written relatively simply, it is easy to understand, and well enough to play the discribed scenarios and situations through your mind, which is important. It covers: Steering and sailing rules, Lights and Shapes, Sound and light signals and even the technical details and requirements of the Lights, Shapes and Sound equipment. There is another similar, more expensive version of this book, which is full of questions and scenarios to test you. This one though, just covers the basic rules, and is pocket sized, which is great to keep in your pocket, wheelhouse or nav table.

Are you sure you want this one?
This is the pocket sized version of the standard Seaman's Guide to colregs, and as such it doesn't have any of the pictures that it's bigger brother has, nor does it do as good a job of explaining the rules or reinforcing them as you read it. I would say it's a good buy if you already have the full size version and want a quick reference in your pocket, but it's that bigger one that's actually going to teach you colregs.

Not much to say.
Bread and Butter for any seafarer. You either know it or you need to learn it.

Important book
This small book contains every compulsory point, every regulation which must be followed in order to prevent a collision between vessels. I can recommend this for everyone who is working on a vessel or studying navigation. Very small book, doesn't require a lot of space to store it.

Pocket the Rules...do the right thing!
Dead handy for a ship inspector ...or a ship's officer! We all need reminding now and then, and this includes the 2016 amendments. I know a lot of deadheads routinely ignore the Rules, but be your own man or woman, and stick to them if you can...they might save your ticket...or even your ship!
