1 1/2 cm by same squares. Lol not sure I answered this correctly but it's all I can tell you. My cat has had no issues. It is actually a good product now that I am used to it. My cat loves it! And good talking point for the neighbours lol. The kids thought it was a bird cage! Told them she ate them! I know I'm bad lol 🤣
