Review: Fits my hand well & is comfortable to use. - This is a nice little kit and I am happy with my purchase. It contains everything I needed to get started with needle felting, other than the wool. Since I am reclaiming wool from old sweaters this was perfect for me. I almost didn't order it after reading in a review that the included items were "very small". I was delighted to find that the needle handles and finger cots fit my hands very comfortably and I don't think I would want them any bigger. For example, the assembled single needle handle, with the "plug" that holds the needle inserted, measures 3-1/2" long. I rest my middle finger on the plug while grasping the tool where the handle narrows with my thumb and pointer finger. This is comfortable for me and gives me excellent control of the needle. The ergonomic way the handle is shaped keeps it from slipping forward or backward without my having to grip it really tight. I am able to work on my projects for hours without experiencing hand fatigue or cramping. Since I am making dollhouse miniatures, the single needle tool is the one that I use most frequently. I wear a small to medium size woman's glove depending on the cut/construction. I use medium size disposable gloves. I am 65 and have mild arthritis in my hands. Review: So useful! Kit is as promised; tools work very well and it is reasonably priced... - Since I am new to needle felting I was happy to find this "kit" that had all the basic tools to get me started on my felting project. I've used the needles to make felted soaps and they stand up to the work. I also found the finger and thumb protectors sturdy and so useful in preventing injury form the occasional jab (LOL!). I'd give this kit to any felter new the craft, or a seasoned expert.

Great Starter Kit - No varying gauges though.
I just bought this kit and am new to felting...so I can't make any comparison comments as far as quality when put up against a more expensive item. But if you're a first-timer and don't want to make a huge investment, I think this is the way to go! The finger guards are so beneficial - and because I keep using 3 fingers, I managed to stab one of them since it only comes with 2 guards - and it hurt like heck! So I'd say the needles are definitely SHARP! The guards seem small at first but if you pull them on and off and bend your fingers a few times, they stretch to fit. From the videos I've watched on felting, most felters mention varying needle gauges - I don't see that in this kit. Maybe they're different and I can't tell - but they all seem to be the same, just differing lengths rather than tips. The foam mat is basically thin sheets of Styrofoam glued together (I think) and works fine for me. I suppose over time you'd need something more substantial - but for now it's working as it should. The wooden holder for 8 needles is really neat for felting larger areas - I used it as a starter to get the loose wool into a workable texture to create a shape - I only put 4 needles in at once because to be honest - this thing kinda scares me - that's a whole LOTTA needles for a beginner. The scissors are EXCELLENT - I love them and they're super sharp. Wipe each needle off before you start stabbing, there's an oil on the needles to keep them lubricated. The glue stick is pretty hokey - I mean if you have a little glue gun I suppose it's a bonus for you. The pins are whatever and there's very little information on how to use each thing, so google for videos, etc and you'll get all the direction you need. Overall - great, inexpensive starter kit. For this price, I don't know why you would start with anything else. If you want to add a few specific gauge needles, like I might do - order those separately and you'll be set!

Great kit to get started
I am a pretty crafty person but put off getting into felting because I already had too many craft supplies. However, I somehow got a hole in my felted winter boots and wasn't sure how to fix them. Felting was the answer! I got this kit plus some wool roving in a matching-ish green (separately) and got to work. This kit has everything I need to fix the hole except wool. The picture doesn't show a foam mat, but the kit came with one. There are a lot it needles plus a multi needle handle thing, and two leather finger gloves that I totally used. These things are sharp and barbed. I also used the awl to hold bits of roving in place while I stabbed. Great set for someone who is getting started and has nothing. This has everything!

Great Kit At A Very Good Price
I only heard of felting recently, and watched a YouTube video on how to use this method. This kit comes with everything, in a nice, plastic, snap shut case. It would be nice if the directions, or list of tools, with a brief description on how to use, was included. There are a few small sheets with pictures. With the YouTube video, and the little info provided, I was able to figure out how to use this kit. However, I wonder if I am getting the most out of the kit. This is just a suggestion though, because what is included, is high quality, and at a very good price. I highly recommend this kit.

USE THE FINGER COVERS
This product is great and I have been really enjoying it. I have never done needle felting before and figured i would give it a shot as i have been interested in it for awhile. I did have to look up beginners guides to get a little more of an idea of what i was doing but this kit does have every tool you need and a lot of extras so you don't need to worry if you make mistakes and end up breaking some of the needles. PLEASE USE THE LEATHER FINGER COVERS. DON'T BE LIKE ME! I have stabbed my fingers a few times before I made the decision for safety and i kinda regret it. Over all great kit.

Nice Beginner/Intermediate Kit
This kit has everything you need to start felting. I find the multi-handle difficult to use for flat felt applications but the single handle is great. There is a wonderful assortment of needles. The finger cots are really great to have. I find the glue stick included a bit puzzling but saw a suggestion to use it to hold the felt in place. It's not quite rigid enough for that purpose. Overall a great value!

Cheap needles
The tool part is fine, the leather thimble is awful and hard. The needles break very easily and some were bent. I am not overly happy with this.
