Gustaf's English Licorice Allsorts (2 lb Bag)

It looks like these allsorts may be coming from different places based on some reviews, but mine are excellent! They are really soft and fresh and came packaged in a plastic bag packed inside a black & white box with a printed bow. The inner bag is supposed to reseal with a strip of printed tape, but doesn’t work well if the bag is too full. I transferred mine to a ziploc to keep them fresh.The taste of each of these is heavenly, just the right amount of fruit or chocolate flavor layered with licorice on the squares, good licorice flavor in the gel rounds covered in tiny candy dots and I love the discs with coconut surrounding the licorice center. Another reviewer listed the ingredients so I guess the flavor is licorice and anise together and it’s delicious.If you take a chance on these I hope you get the freshest, softest mix like I did!

YUMMY LICORICE LIKE WE USED TO GET WHEN WE WERE KIDS! Large quantity made me feel like I got good value for my money. Lasted a LONG TIME without getting stale. YUMMY!

Do Not Buy this Brand, they are terrible.I have always loved English Allsorts. These are not them !I do not have any idea what These where.Like eating raw sugar that had fallen into floor cleaner.No food label anywhere on the package or included in the box. only a shipping label from "Black Tie Mercantile" in Kentucky, USA.Nothing saying "Gustaf" anywhere.Only very slight undertone of licorice due to the overwhelming bad chemical taste.Something is wrong here and I am going to alert the authorities.No Food label is enough to warrant an inspection.It tasted like I was being chemically poisoned.This candy maker (or fraudulent candy maker) should not be in business.Except for the larger quantity that I am throwing away, I am keeping some for lab testing.Do Not Buy These. Waste of money!

I love allsorts. Don't ask me why. I decided to try these since the price was decent and honestly, finding authentic allsorts in the US can be a pain at times. I was quite leery about these at first, due to other reviews claiming that the candy was stiff and stale.I was very pleased to find out that, at least in my case, the candy was fresh and very edible. It is good and simple liquorice candy with a very typical mixture of amazing (coconut roll) and meh (plain black liquorice) that you would expect from anything labeled "liquorice allsorts". When you order this, you're getting exactly what you see.The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is that packaging - while the candy is double-bagged, these aren't really food grade bags and look rather dodgy. Anyway, just throw it in a dish for the guests (or yourself, haha) and this ceases to be a problem. All in all, good stuff!

I ordered 2 two pound bags of Gustavo allsorts but instead, Amazon shipped 2 two pound bags of King Sweets brand licorice allsorts. The Gustav brand is wonderful. Understanding Amazon might have been low on stock or perhaps none, we didn’t send the King Sweets bags back. They were not good at all. Very hard, tasted stale and aren’t even close to Gustav quality. We didn’t send them back because we had opened both bags but we were very disappointed.

These allsorts come from England where the famous Basset Licorice Allsorts are from.I would have a hard time telling them apart and for a 2lb bag with free shipping that is a great price.The only problem I had is that I ate the entire bag in less than a week.So I will wait awhile but will definitely order these again.

First, the brand was one I've never heard of - not Gustaf's. It was, apparently, on the shelf for a very long time as pieces were very hard - flavor was OK but not as fresh as I'm used to. Sad because I really love licorice but it will probably be awhile before I order again or will possibly try another brand.

Delivered at promised time, in excellent condition. Good value for the price.
