Stops insects from hitting neck,
The tube is quite long, I cut the tube half way along the length, this allows me to tuck it under my base layer, giving me better protection from insects, they can be quite a pain when they hit an exposed area of skin at 70mph. the colours are bright and there are no seams to cause irritation.

having said that it was perfect on Sunday when cycling as it was just right ...
This is a made from very thin material, having said that it was perfect on Sunday when cycling as it was just right to stop the wind when going downhill so kept my face and neck warm. When climbing up the otherside I just pushed it down and I was not too hot. Not had the chance to test in greally cold weather but I have feeling it will be fine, plesantly surpised to be honest.
