KandyToys Classic Retro Large Electric Toy Train Set With Tracks | Battery Operated

I have been planning a Christmas Tree train set for a couple of years and this year decided to plan early. Having a 2 year old I didn't want to take spend much as there is a fair chance he will get his hands on it. I took the plunge on this set and a well packaged parcel turned up a couple of days later. On first inspection the track is a nice slightly flexible plastic and a big 1.8m circumference circle. The loco is pretty weighty for a plastic train and after popping the batteries in it ran very nicely around the track. All in all this is a nice set and well worth the money.

My grandson already had another 'classic train set' & loves it. I bought this 'classic train set' in the hope of extending the original with more track & another engine. While this second set is very good on its own, it is not compatible with the original, having different track & made on a different scale. This is disappointing, especially as both sets are shown as a possible combined purchase. My grandson now has two individual sets to play with!

Hi, this is the second train set like this I have bought. The first one was broken by my grand daughter by tripping over the track in the first 10 minutes but this was not the fault of the train set. It's excellent value for the money (if a little flimsy) and entertained my grandson and his friends on his birthday. It has no sounds but has a small light at the front of the loco and rides quite nicely on the circular track. It's a little awkward to get the loco and trucks to sit properly on the track but once on it ran absolutely fine and only fell off when "assisted" by the youngsters. For simple entertainment value I would say it's hard to beat and now my grandson has more track he can run a slightly more interesting layout

The item arrived on time. In fact I missed the collection on Day 1, so they delivered it the next day again- thank you !! About the product: It was priced at about 5 GBP, so I didn't have high expectations, but it has turned out to be the worst buy. Firstly , the train works, the tracks are fine, but I just didn't like it because it smells burnt rubber after a 10 min run !. It hasn't stopped working, but I didn't expect this. lesson learnt ! Cheap plastic/rubber may be ! Secondly, I had ordered ten other items along with this train, so didn't realise that I was paying another fiver for this particular delivery. Thirdly, it says "working lights" on the carton, really ? Would you have a "non-working" light category ? It doesn't have any sound, atleast mine doesn't. Overall, my opinion, it isn't worth at all. Disaster.

You get what you pay for. It works, and my son loved it. I bought to go around the Yule tree, and it did what I wanted... moving train around the tree, excited train mad son full of joy. However, it's just cheap plastic, not terribly well made and just a bit tacky. It's not a remote controlled train either, so it does just go round and round the track. So while it was loved at Yule, these days when he fancies some train action, my son falls back on trusty old brio.

I like this train. I bought one ages ago and I wanted some more wagons for it. I was surprised to find a set for less then I paid for at the time. To things into perspective a SINGLE Hornby play trains wagon (their kids set with plastic track and battery run) costs more then what you are paying for this entire set ok. By the way if you go on Aliexpress and look hard enough you can find other wagons, passenger coaches and engines. If you buy two packs you can make a sort of figure of 8 almost (see pic)

Considering the price this is surprisingly good quality. I agree with the other reviews that it may not be an ideal gift for young children because it is quite fiddly to get it on the track initially. Once on the track it does appear to stay on. Not half as bad as I was expecting.
