Can I clean these in the dishwasher?

I would not recommend it, better hand washing with dish soap and a sponge

How long do these last?

The quality is very nice. I’ve had mine for 5 months. Throw it in the wash on gentle cycle or wash by hand, comes out great every time. Looks brand new yet. The elastic around wrists is perfect, Velcro closure stays strong.

Does food or sauce ever get through to the clothing? We purchased another smock and it still gets through and stains clothing.

No messes ever get through to the clothing. My son poured water directly onto the bib and his shirt was completely dry. Food and puree messes also wipe off the bib really easily. I think you'll be happy with these. I'll never use anything else!

Does this bib smell ?

Had this bib for a long time. It Never smells. The only way it would smell is if you never wash it. It is machine washable, just wash it on a gentle cycle or delicate cycle with a teaspoon of detergent. That's all it needs. Or just wash it with some dawn dish soap or antibacterial soap. Line dry or air dry only! Never put in the dryer!
