Works Well on Fully Prepared Outdoor Surfaces
This is a pretty decent concrete sealer, it's easy to apply, it's eco-friendly, and if your budget will continually allow it, you'll probably never need to use another brand again. Having said that, a price of £57.67 (when ordered) for five litres is expensive, there are many brands of concrete sealer that are a fair bit cheaper, however, what you are actually paying for here is quality, and not necessarily quantity. The FILA concrete shield is suitable for a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces, but it's overall effectiveness will depend on the quality of the surface to begin with. For example, concrete pathways and drives will need to be thoroughly cleaned before application, and even after a great deal of preparation, you will more than likely find that five litres doesn't go a long way. Outdoor surfaces tend to be more absorbent, so you may find that you will need to apply more than the recommended two coats of concrete shield, in order to ensure that the surfaces are completely weatherproof and stain proof. Bear in mind that no matter how good the sealer is, it will need to be re-applied eventually (especially outdoors), and once again, how often re-application is required will depend on the quality of the surface to begin with (and obviously how much wear and tear the surface is subjected to).Indoor surfaces are much finer than those used outdoors, and this is where five litres of FILA concrete shield will go further, however, make sure you read the application instructions carefully before using the concrete sealer on domestic surfaces. The manufacturer recommends the following..."On indoor residential flooring (micro concrete, quartz concrete, etc.), test the product on a small inconspicuous area to check the product's compatibility with the surface before treatment. On smooth or polished concrete, the product may not adhere correctly. Hence, we recommend testing the product before full application."Also, if you are considering a purchase of this product for use on indoor domestic surfaces, please be aware that you may need to make an additional purchase, because 'finishing wax' is recommended by the manufacturer..."For indoor domestic environments: 4 hours after the application of CONCRETE SHIELD, apply one coat of finishing wax to obtain the desired finish. (MATT matte finish or LONGLIFE glossy finish)."

For Polished Micro Cement
We have polished cement counters and the same finish in a lighter colour in a wet room in our home. This product is designed for micro cement. It's not for raw standard cement that, such as what is used in garages. For polished cement it is perfect and just what I was looking for in our very busy foodie kitchen. The polished cement wraps around the sink, so this area specifically was a cause for concern with the heavy use of the sink. Its very runny and not far off water in comparison. It can be brushed or rolled on, but rolling would splatter everywhere in our already used kitchen. If I was using it in a new unused kitchen then using a roller would be much quicker. The application is simple. They suggest a few coats - allowing each coat to dry fully before applying the next. The overall effect is similar to that of applying Danish oil to oak. It does darken the application area, a notch. It doesn't bother me too much because it brings out the quality of the micro cement. It dries rapidly and is good to use after a single night's cure. The scent too is a whisper. Additionally, I get a very good water repellant barrier especially around inherently wet areas and the draining area around the sink. it is definitely a notcible difference compared to the water barrier we used before this. Water beads off it very well.I believe a couple of applications are required per year and this container carries more than what I need for a few years. I don't think im likely to run out anytime soon.

Great protective coating, seems to be working well
This is a good value way to relatively quickly and easily protect a concrete surface. We used this on the floor in our garages it did not come with the best finish and we really wanted to help with the longevity of it. The container you receive of this protector is pretty big and goes a surprisingly long way, the consistency is rather thin which makes applying a nice thin even layer quite easy which also therefore helps it go further. It recommends apply two coats and waiting at least 4 hours between them, this is quite good as you can do a the job in a single day. After doing two coats on our garage floor we still have a small amount left in the container, I think we will leave this for a bit and if notice any bits that need a top up then we can use this to go over them again. The protective layer seems to be working well, we haven’t had any big incidents with spillages or anything to really put it to the test, but there is a noticeable ‘barrier’ that is stopping mud from attaching the the surface as much as before, cleaning the floor seems much easier. I feel like it has darkened the surface a bit, which I quite like, but if you are concerned about it, maybe it is worth testing a small patch first to see how noticeable it would be on your surface.

Good for it's price, but be careful
Great stuff, but it's fairly difficult to use without getting everywhere, so wear gloves and you'll be golden!
