I needed an HDMI splitter so I could connect my laptop to my TV without disconnecting the DirecTV box. This switch is the perfect solution. Now I can easily switch from one to the other simply by using the toggle switch. I have had no connectivity issues and this works exactly as expected. Also, you can reverse the unit to connect to 2 monitors or a TV and a monitor. One thing to note: this switch does need a power source so you will need a power/charging cord to connect to a wall socket. I only figured that out after I received this, but not a big deal. If you are using this like I am to connect your laptop to the TV, I recommend also getting a 10' HDMI cable to connect the laptop so you can operate the laptop while sitting on the sofa, otherwise you will have to keep getting up to operate. Overall, I recommend this product as it works exactly as expected

This is the second of these switches I've purchased. The first was for my wife to switch between her Xbox & Laptop into a single monitor. Has worked flawlessly for about 2 years now. The second was for my setup, to switch between 2 monitors at 2 different workstations from 1 laptop. It to works flawlessly albeit I'm only a month in to this one. This truly does work bi-directionally. Simple set up - no external power needed. As described this will only re-direct either source or destination signal. In my case only 1 monitor is on at any given time (exactly what I needed it for) - it's not intended to display both at the same time. Highly recommend this as a switching device.

Works as intended. One issue though -- in certain configurations, you will need to press the button 3 times to make sure the signal is lost entirely before switching to the other display. I suspect this is a very rare situation though.

solid piece of hardware. I used it mainly to switch my xbox from a monitor to a tv depending on what I was playing. Other than being unresponsive once a while it was quite useful. definitely worth it at this price
