Q: Is this a gallon or quart? I don’t believe it’s listed in description.

Juan, when I ordered this product, I received 4 quarts in a box, so 1 gallon in total.

Q: Is this dewaxed shellac?

No, it is not. They make a product called sealcoat that IS dewaxed shellac, but the bullseye is not. I like the bullseye as a finish itself. You can reapply at any time, but it is not dewaxed so it might be incompatible with some finishes like varnish over it.

Q: Can product be used for outdoor steps?

It could be, but probably something else would be better. Shellac is a wonderful finish, and very compatible with other finishes (either below or over). It is reasonably resistant to water, but not alcohol. But for an outdoor finish, either a paint or stain with SiO2 in it. Stains have the advantage over paints in that while they don't "protect as well", they usually do NOT need to be sanded clean before a later renewal.
