Beast of a bag
This thing is super tough and awesome. Got it after yt reviews from marinex and some desy Chang and some others. I got the gray one which is covert and subtle enough to not attract any attention to a tactical bag. Very few or small logos also. Looks like a normal bag pretty much. Wouldn’t mind if it came with some extra pockets or at least a couple more hook pieces because the bag is already quite expensive not to mention maybe another $100 for the hook accessories. The one it comes with works okay. Zippers are probably the best I have ever seen and super tough, and smooth. Also fairly comfortable but it’s not a very light bag and especially what’s it’s designed for, tools and ccs it could get a bit heavy and uncomfortable for long periods. Bottom is super reinforced and could withstand a mine. Laptop sleeve can fit up to a 16” but it quite tight and may need to be moved to ccw compartment. It still floats so it won’t bang around on the bottom. A couple negatives though, the water bottle pouch is a little tight especially with the stupid draw string thingy which takes up lots of room and prevents closing for some larger bottles. Might cut it off honestly. Limited attachment points on straps for camera/lights/water. Zippers for Molle compartment are hard to unzipper when fully closed under the grand handle but not a problem because you can just keep them to the side and or use the quick pull tab. Overall it’s a great edc/possible bugout bag. Probably best bag from vertx line.

Perfect large every day carry bag
Great backpack, quality build, lots of pockets and flexibility. Hook and loop throughout along with MOLLE on front quick access panel that can quickly be snatched open. Front and main pocket have quick access with super easy, quality zippers that are made to be snatched. Water resistant coating on entire outside. Slight sheen that may be a drawback for some but worth it for the water resistance. My every day carry bag for folding pew pew and full size edc. Body armor panels inserts available.

Great for business travel!
I had always struggled to find the perfect laptop travel bag for business. This bag, along with all the pouch accessories you can buy to customize it made it MY perfect bag. It’s pricey, but the value is there in quality and customization ability with the various pouches and organizers you can buy for it. 100% recommend.

Great bag, a few minor caveats
I used the original Gamut (1.0) back in the day, so I was familiar with the basic setup of the bag. Stupidly, during one of my minimalism purges I got rid of it. In also had the 2.0, but hated the laptop holder. I finally decided to buy this, and like the way the laptop holder is set up a bit better. This is close to the perfect bag for me from a work bag standpoint. I like having the laptop holder in the spacious main compartment. It allows me to pull my laptop and mouse while only opening one zipper, and any cords are at hand as well. I’m a Quality manager for a $25B a year Fortune 50 company that apparently can’t afford to give me a desk anywhere but in an office far away from the people I work with, so I spend most of my day mobile. I am able to carry everything I need in this without it being overly crowded or heavy. I even have room for a portable monitor. There are only two reasons I am not giving this 5 stars. 1) The bag does not stand up on its own. Even its bias is towards falling on its face rather than on its back. This takes some adjusting, as I realized that when I set my bag down, I usually set it up to fall on its back. 2) The color choice is awful. The grey is too shiny, and the green and tan are both ugly, meaning I went with black. It isn’t overly tactical looking or anything, I just miss my flat grey 1.0 bag. Another thing that you may love or hate is that the 1.0 has zipper stops on the main compartment where you could only open the zippers enough to get a few things out. Now when I open this, half the time I unzip it all the way. I like having the ability to open it all the way, but don’t want to do that every time. I miss having the snap that gave me the option to do it only of I wanted to. Even though I spent a lot of time dwelling on the negatives, ultimately I like this bag. Having a lot of room in the main compartment is great, and the organizing pocket on the side gives just enough options without being over crowded. I also like the small pocket on the top of the bag, there is more room in it than most bags, allowing for bigger items than just a pair of glasses. For my use case, this works great. Hopefully I’ve given enough information to help you understand if this will work well for you.

Solid construction and great design.
Great replacement for my old work backpack. I loved the old one and had gone through 3 of them so far but they seemed to last about a year and a zipper or some stitching would fail. I carry laptop, portable spare monitor, Bluetooth mouse, 2 battery banks, a few hand tools, tape measure, level, range finder, notebook and pen, some other miscellaneous items. Construction is solid on this pack and the compartments are well thought out.
