Most skeins are DK, some are thicker, some are thinner
For the price I found this to be a very acceptable quality yarn, especially for beginner's projects. I made a hat and a pullover with it, and it's warm to wear and medium-soft to the touch. Yarn works up well and doesn't split easily. I used a 4mm crochet hook which made for a very consistent stitch effect and if you don't have too much tension it gives a bit of drape and the stitches a lovely volume. Even with the whole pullover/hat in double crochets there are no gaps visible which looks lovely and keeps warm. However, there are some things to be aware of:I ordered 8 different colours and 12 skeins in total. They all vary in thickness, even skeins within the same colour. I had thinner and thicker Burgundy, the Cherry Wood was thinner and almost a bit shiny, Woodland Green thinner than Light Green, Russet was the thickest. You can see the differences in the tension square photo. I used the yarn for a striped pullover, and luckily in the overall look it doesn't matter much since I switched colours every row. But if you had larger chunks in one colour, eg. broader stripes or different colours for the sleeves, I imagine you will notice the difference in thickness and drape. The problem is, the threads on the skein all look the same, so you can't really tell before you start using the wool, and by then you can't return it anymore. The "Russet" skein was the thickest of all, I would say Aran thickness, and an almost harsh and felt-like look and feel to it. It was also the only one that had terrible knots every few meters which even just for the low price is a no-go.Colours true to pictures: Burgundy, Coffee Bean, BiskottiColours deviating from pictures:Woodland Green is less brownish but a lovely dark greenOlive Oil is more a clear but lovely apple green, not as olive as picturedCherry Wood is lighter and more like a perfect rust-brownRusset is less reddish, more like a walnut-brownRed Oxide is less red with a slightly pinkish toneIn total you could say the photos are more warm/red tinted than the actual colours are

Olive green wool
Shade lighter than I had hoped for but that’s the problem with distance selling. The wool is good quality, strong as used for darning welt on top of leather boots. So that does not detract from the quality and very reasonable price. So very happy with product given the ease of buying/delivery buying on line.

Good ball of dk.

Lovely and soft
This wool is lovely, my only concern is every ball came sealed in a plastic bag so can not understand how one of my balks had a wet label. Most perplexing.
