The AIGA Guide to Careers in Graphic and Communication Design

This book is a great introduction to the field of graphic design. My students really like reading it and it gives great real world examples. The author did a wonderful job encapsulating the field of graphic design in this book.

Really like this book, must read for anyone in the AIGA.

This book is great information for anyone that wants to be a graphic designer. I plan to use it next year for the portfolio class that I teach.

I recently bought this book and love it. I am teaching a portfolio class to graduating graphic design students at Loyola Marymount University in L.A. and am planning to assign it as the text for the class. As I have been reading I find that the author has done a great job of addressing the issues that designers need to be aware of as they graduate and look for work. The descriptions of the various career stages that a designer will go through are very useful in helping them to have a sense of the profession. I also love the interviews with the various designers, they give a solid sense of the incredible diversity in the design profession. I highly recommend this book for anyone considering this field.
