Very functional wi-fi temperature controlled switch!
I wanted to replace my attic fan temperature switch with a wi-fi unit and found this. It's offered with and without humidity monitoring. I didn't really need humidity, but for a few extra bucks thought it might be interesting to have that info as well. This is a 16A, 120V or 240V switch, but the lugs realistically won't take anything larger than 14AWG. I first tested it with a lamp cord and a light bulb to make sure it worked before I got up to the attic which is close quarters. I first tried adding it using the Smart Life app, which seemed to find it but never completed, so I downloaded the required eWeLink app for my iPhone. This took a while but worked, and by pressing the "Auto" button on the device screen I was able to set the on and off temps - very simple but you must press "save" after every step. If auto is enabled, you cannot turn it on and off manually - you have to disable auto first. I set mine to turn on at 105F and back off at 90F. You can also set on-off by humidity levels as well. The location in my attic was right above my router. I put the switch on a stud where I could spot the status LED (screws not included) and the sensor at the peak of the roof where it would be the hottest. This gets power from the AC line and doesn't need batteries and when I restored the power, it came right up and found the wi-fi signal (2.4GHz only) and turned the status LED solid, indicating it was up and running. I was then able to turn it off and on to test it, and place it back in auto mode, ready for the first hot day.I did enable the Alexa skill, easily done from the eWeLink app, but all I could do was turn it on or off and display the temperature, so unless you really want voice control, the provided app is fine. Speaking of the app, it does require you to register or it will quit working after a time. If you don't like registering with foriegn-developed apps, this might be a deal breaker. Even with registration, some "advanced" features are only available if you pay. I'm going to give it 5 stars because for the money, it's an excellent solution for a wide variety of temperature or humidity controlled applications.

Does the basic job of monitoring my farm pond with no frills.
I purchased this to monitor the water temperature in a farm pond. The unit does the job with no frills like a display to go bad, and I am able to read the temperature with the eWeLink app as well as their API.The temperature probe is digital and connects to the unit with 3 ft. long a standard (3.5mm) 1/8th inch stereo audio cable. I purchased a 25 ft. stereo extension cable for my application and just plugged it in with a little electrical tape wrapping to make the joint secure. It was then pulled through an existing PVC conduit and made to hang a few inches submerged in the pond. There is probably a physical limit on the length of cable one could use between the probe and the unit due to voltage drop, but at 25 ft. I am experiencing no problems. We shall see how long it holds up out in the wild but so far it appears to be an economical way to monitor the pond water.

Problem with product and NO Support
I bought two of these MCCOZY Smart 16A Switch with Temperature and Humidity Monitoring, WiFi Thermostat Controller Compatible with Alexa Google Home (Temperature only) that uses the eWeLink app.Neither one after setting up and using for a period of time would retain the setting to read in Fahrenheit. Every time I would open the eWeLink app it would show in Celsius. Contacted support and got one email reply asking what the problem was. I answered it and never heard back from them.I finally gave up, purchased the Sonoff THR316 with temperature probe and this setup works great.

Not User Friendly!
DO NOT FOLLOW direction on pamphlet that comes in the box! Or, try it a couple of times and see! I tried it like 8 times, but it didn’t work. You need to use “Compatible Pairing” to connect. The following took me an hour and half to figure out!DO NOT attempt this at the end connection spot. You don’t want to be stuck in the attic or on the ladder for an hr.! Hook it up on the table and connect it first. It will hold the memory of connection when you disconnect and move it.1- Download app, eWelink, and register.2- If your router has both 2.4 and 5 ghz, TURN OFF 5ghz signal. Research online to find guide for your type of router. This unit only accepts 2.4ghz and 5ghz may confuse the connection. Have the PW for the 2.4ghz signal handy for later steps.3-connect unit to power (for this part, yes, review the pamphlet). They use blue/red colors according to other countries. Remember, White is Neutral, Black is Hot or Load in US.4-The LED on the unit starts with “blink..blink..long blink. You need to change it to constant blink. Hold the “SET” button for 5 seconds. (You may see a red light also, ignore it. It is for the RF connection for the TH-16RF model. Pay attention to blue lights.) If you don’t see constant blue blink, hold the SET button for another 5 seconds. Once you see constant blink, continue… You need to move semi-fast here, the blinking blue light has a certain time period. But that is fine, you can set it to this mode again.5- On the App, select + or Add Device. > select the “Compatible Pairing” on the left bottom of screen. (Ignore the WIFI connection on this screen.) A guide screen comes up showing you what blue light you need to look for. Select NEXT6- select the 2.4ghz connection on this screen and enter the PW for it, then NEXT7- Now you enter the semi-difficult/tricky steps….7a- look to see if the blue light is still blinking constantly with no “long” pause in-between. If not correct, press the SET button for 5 sec. again.8- App will search for devices. If it finds a signal from the unit, it will display it. It should be “ITEAD-XXXXXXXXX”. Xs for numbers. Select it.8a- If it doesn’t find it, you’ll need to repeat from step 7a.9- Next screen shows you the PW for the ITEAD-XXXXXX signal, click Copy button on screen next to the PW (12345678). Saves it for the next step. Select Next10- Next will take you to your phones available wifi signals. Look for ITEAD-XXXXXXX (Xs are numbers). If you see it (if you’re lucky enough!!), select it and past the PW (12345678). Now, you’re connected to the unit directly. Click back arrow to go back to the APP. You’re basically done here…BUT…10a- If you don’t see it, you will have to repeat everything from step 7a!!! (I had to do it about 5 times!!! That is why, NOT user friendly!)11- Check your work. Check manual turning On/OFF on the app. Also, connect the temp/humidity sensor, set temp according to your environment to see if it turns On and Off. Use your imagination on how to cool and heat the temp sensor. (I put the sensor, disconnected, in the fridge for about 30 sec., then connected it and brought up the temp by hawk-tuye on it…kidding..hahaha, breathing on it. It worked.Good luck!Msg to MFG, please make it user friendly!!!

Works well
Easy install. Easy connection. Quality appears good. I'm using it to monitor temperature inside a remote insulated bathroom in the barn. Plan to connect space heater to keep pipes from freezing.

The product stopped working within 30 days. This is super low-quality product. You will regret it if you buy it.
