These definitely have the weight of metal and make that distinctive clink sound when dropped on each other. There appears to be a bit of a dark wash on it to bring out the relief, but I think it makes them look more authentic. They came in a very small, black felt pouch with a drawstring. If they were real they would look MUCH more worn, corroded, etc. These look like they just came off the Roman mint a year ago, but I prefer the newer look. I just wish they were less expensive. For example, I can get 100 widow's mite coin replicas for less money on Amazon.

My wife was watching a show about ancient Roman coins being found and made the comment that she would love to have some of them. So as a prank I ordered these coins. They look great and because they are made from some type metal they had the feel. She loved them! So if momma’s happy, I’m happy. I received these coins in a couple of days which made me real happy.
