Stopped egg eating (by my hens, not me!)
We have had ex battery hens for years and this is the first time that we have had this problem. One of them has decided that a tasty egg every day is just the thing to sustain her through the morning. It is an annoying habit, especially considering the price of eggs and the ever increasing cost of feed. I looked online on the consensus seemed to be that using fake eggs was worth a try.These were a little more expensive than I expected they would be, but they have paid for themselves now as the habit appears to have been broken. The fake eggs are robust, and seem to have fooled the hens who aren't as daft as you may at first suspect. Our excess eggs are given to our neighbours, so we just have to make sure that one of these is not inadvertently not included in the plans for an omelette or Victoria sponge.....Overall a good buy.

Solved the problem in less than 2 days
I bought these as recommended for chickens who eat their own eggs. My 3 girls had just started laying and one took a fancy to the resulting egg. Put these in the nest boxes the minute they arrived and after 2 days, no more eggs being eaten.Fantastic and thank you!

Perfect. Put them in the nest boxes for my new chickens and, having laid on the floor of their house, they got the message!

great for starting your hens to lay
really believable eggs, so much so I thought my new young hens had laid two days after getting the hens then realised I had put it in the nest the day before. Hens now laying their own but I'm still stupid!

Looks real, shame about damaged package
Packaging damaged so will have to store them in a real egg box or let them roll loose. Wanted them for a magic trick and needed something that looked real and felt about a similar weight. Would have given 5 stars if not for damaged egg box

Good investment !
My hens had stopped laying so I bought some fake eggs which did induce them to start laying - for a while - but they are "old girls" now so perhaps past their laying stage. I now have some additional "babies" and will use these eggs once they reach point of lay stage to encourage them to lay. They did work though.
