DRIBOX FL1859-330 Outdoor Electricity Connection Box for Plugs and Transformers

Initially I was disappointed as there was nothing to secure the lid as expected. However the ‘clips’ are there but very tightly secured at the sides of the base. They are difficult to secure the lid but will fit. I have taken a photo to demonstrate that if you use timers (we use remote controls indoors) then because of the size of the timers you will need more sockets than you can use. There is enough height space for extension sockets, timer and appliance plug. You can see from the photo that the questionable design of the lid allows water to pool on it and you must take care to dry this before opening the box or you will defeat the object of having it if you get water into the box.I really don’t understand why the box lid isn’t flat. It is a much better solution than having to bring all the flexes and plugs indoors through a window .

Really easy to use, clips together tight enough, however, the top gathers water so if you need to open it you have to be careful not to tip water into the box.I ended up putting another container over the top to prevent water from sitting on the top.

I bought one of these over a year ago and while it has not caused any problems I found that the cable seal becomes less effective over time but I did give it a hard testI had a bulky power supply unit plus plugs/cables for a telescope motor drive in it, during the night the humidity can be high. The power unit and plugs are bulky which means that it is often difficult to get the leads out cleanly.The waterproof seal looks like some kind of foam and if the cables don't leave the box cleanly the seal doesn't create a complete seal. I left my power supply out for a week, it was dry but the seals had allowed atmospheric moisture in and everything was feeling slightly damp to the touch. Fortunately after taking my equipment inside and allowing it to dry out it still workedSo for occasional one off jobs it probably fine but I wouldn't leave water sensitive equipment out for more than a week or two without checking the seals, and I guess you should look to replace if they become worn, common sense I guessI think I'm going to get the dri-box version next as the seals and fit look to be better - last time I thing I just went on price

Should have looked more closely. I have purchased a couple of other boxes and they contained a plug and lead and for some reason, I thought that this would be the same but it was not the case. I purchased this box because it was slightly cheaper than the other 2 that I have purchased but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for" and in this case, I have paid for a very expensive plastic box and have now had to purchase an extension lead, like the one in the picture, to go with it so it was not a bargain after all.

The box does not fit together as tightly as had expected. That means any pulling on the cables will likely reduce any water tight seal. If the box is laid flat on the ground that is fine but I have been using with a cement mixer and the cable is too short to lay this box flat on the ground etc... That means the cables are putting pressure on the seal which reduces the water tightness. So far I haven't blown my fuse box.

It does the job but the box is quite shallow so my round extension cable bulges through the lid but I can shut it. So not as deep as I expected.

Second one I have bought first was for a 4 way extension and the transformers etc to temporary fit under carport for the christmas lights does the job well. This was bought for fitting to a wall for timers for my pond lights and feeder so I don't have to bend down into the main power box any more.

Perfect, simple easy to use and that's all I could ask. I would recommend this.One comment for the manufacturers. I wanted to put in a reel several meters long and the box was not big enough, I had to remove the reel to fit it in. For a smaller reel no problem, lots of space. A bigger version would have been great for me :)Thank you.
