Silver Brush Limited 3000S4 Black Velvet Round Brush for Watercolour, Size 4, Short Handle

I absolutely love this brush. I have a top of the range Winsor and Newton Series 7 sable Kolinsky brush which was a very expensive purchase for me but I find this brush much easier to use and performs a lot better. Even though it is only a size 4 it holds a LOT of water but it holds its shape. I’m relatively new to watercolour and I have noticed the difference that this has made to my painting. I also recently purchased a size 12 which I am also equally impressed with. I’ve now ordered four more brushes from the range I’m that impressed with them. I follow a lot of artists on social media and noticed that a lot of them use these brushes and now I know why.

New to watercolour I bought finest sable brushes as everyone says. Did find that judging the amount of water on the brush hard, so decided to buy a mixed brush, so pleased I did, much easier to control for me, not flooding with water, the no 4 is a slim brush and so will buy a 6 to replace the 4 sable one I have. Painting has improved, thank u silver brush.

I really like these brushes, I tend to use them in preference to the sable ones I have. They hold a lot of water and flow really well. Lovely brushes.

But I’m not as impressed as I thought I would be. It’s a good brush but not, in my opinion exceptional.
