I chuckled at one of the bad reviews that had an indoor home hygrometer showing incorrect data and the person was complaining. The internet is a good start to finding correct information on how to cure a humidor and what equipment is appropriate for inside a humidor. In fact, the instructions that come with this humidor are quite detailed and are not in Chinglish.For the price, this humidor cannot be beaten. I was a little skeptical that this would not be Spanish Cedar or would just be thin-veneered Spanish Cedar. The wood is Spanish cedar. It appears to be the real deal which is 1/2 inch thick on the sides. The bottom appears to be about 1/8 inch thick it could be thinner if it is veneered. I am not sure without ripping the box apart. There was only one natural knot in the wood that I saw. I will keep an eye on this to make sure no sap weeps from it. The outside cherry coating is most likely a plasticized stain. I am fine with that as it should keep the moisture in the box.The smell of the cedar is incredible. Over time the tobacco terpenes and the wood terpenes will fuse to create an even more pleasant aroma for both the humidor and your cigars.I did buy a digital hygrometer to stick in the humidor since most cheap analog hygrometers are typically off and the reviews I read here complained about the hygrometer. I calibrated the digital and amazingly the analog that came with the humidor was spot on. On day 2 the hygrometer was showing 30% and the digital showed 70%. I attempted to adjust the humidor hygrometer and the spring had apparently been sprung. I took it apart....it is complete junk. I ding the product for that.The internet seems to have a thousand ways to season a humidor. The instructions are really all you need. I have no patience so I cheated. I soaked the provided sponge and slopped water on every inch of cedar, including the top seal inside and out. I did not leave standing water but left the inside pretty damp to the touch. I also placed a bowl of distilled water inside the humidor and closed the lid. I waited about 4 hours and repeated the same process a second time. Since the bottom is thinner cedar it did not soak up any more water and I wiped the bottom fairly dry. I waited another 4 hrs then did it a third time. At this point, the wood would no longer soak up any more water. The humidor was at its saturation point.This process will most likely make the humidity levels inside the humidor very high. That is ok. I would rather have high levels than low levels. My humidor humidity 85% at around 70 degrees. We don't want a rainforest, so I left the lid open in increments of 10 minutes until I hit around 75% humidity. I left the humidity on the high side because my cigars were on the dry side and the humidity of should equalize after the cigars are added. You should have a fairly tight seal on the humidor. Mine was actually hard to open at first since the wood swelled a bit. That's also good. I'd rather have a tight seal than a loose one. After a few opens and shuts it appears to be a perfect seal.The humidifier is a cheap sponge-based humidifier. I am not impressed with it, but for the price point, I really can't complain. I added 50% pg and 50% water mix to the humidifier to help with the prevention of mold and bacteria. Only time will tell if the humidifier works with the humidor. Even the manufacturer's instructions said it might not work and to use another humidifier if it does not work. I have some humigel beads laying around that I will probably put in the humidifier if the sponge does not keep humidity long-term. This is really the only negative I have with this humidor.I know I could have made a tupperdor on the cheap, but for my vanity, this humidor looks good and is functional. I do not keep enough cigars or keep cigars long enough to justify a high-dollar humidor. Expensive aged Whisky and Rum on the other hand is another story.I do believe if the company put in a quality humidifier and hygrometer this humidor would be a hit. The box itself is machined well.

For the money this product is incredible. It is a heavy wooden box and doesn't feel cheap. Instructions and equipment for set up are detailed and included. The glass is real. The only thing that "feels like it's $30" is the humidity dial on the front, and the humidifier in the back. Both are a gold plastic, which doesn't really effect the product experience. Honestly, this product was great and I highly recommend.

UPDATED REVIEW: Customer Service reached out to me and rectified the issues with my hygrometer. They were very professional and quickly worked to address my issues. As such, I have updated my review. I do truly believe that my original issues with my humidor was an anomoly based upon their customer service and response.The cedar tends to stick together on the interior of the humidor. I was concerned that I would have to pry the humidor open and potentially chip the paint. Additionally, the hygrometer does not work at all on the one that I received. I've attempted to remove the hygrometer and place it in ambient air, but it still doesn't work. I have a digital hygrometer that I've placed inside along with a bluetooth hygrometer that measure the temperature and humidity with accuracy. I have other humidors that I've purchased on Amazon that I think are far superior and that are equally or similarly priced. The humidor isn't terrible, it's just not to the quality that I think I expected.

I did not expect a humidor of this quality for this price! It exceeded my expectations. I bought it as a gift to a friend of mine who loves cigars and he absolutely loves the box. He praise the hygrometer of the box for being very accurate.

My bfs cigar were all getting dry (sad) but now with that box he can keep it all in the right humidity and keep it for longer.

Purchased this to try out a glass top humidor. Everywhere I looked online said, "don't use glass top or wood humidors they suck just use Tupperware." But I wanted a display piece as much as I wanted a functional humidor. For the price this was a great way to give it a shot and worst case return it or try to seal it up so it would actually work and not feel bad about messing it up and just putting it in the closet instead of on display.I was prepared to try it and return it if I couldn't get it to hold humidity. I followed the directions, used the included humidity device for a while before I waited for my boveda pack to get in with my other cigars, and then put everything in there. Holds a steady 65% humidity with a 69% boveda pack. I maybe have 30 sticks in there and it's tight but works great. Temp seems accurate too.The only downside is that to my knowledge the hygrometer isn't adjustable, so if you "calibrate" it you just have to remember the difference and do the mental math to figure out the real humidity percentage. I might down the line replace it with one that's adjustable but for now it's fine and mine seems to be fairly accurate out of the box.

Dieser Humidor macht einen ausgezeichneten Eindruck.Er ist recht schwer und fühlt sich dadurch wertig an, auch das öffnen und schließen des Humidors fühlt sich nicht an als ob man ein ,, Billigprodukt“ bedienen würde.Die Verarbeitung außen und innen stimmt, vor allem zu dem Preis.Kleiner Tipp: den Humidor etwas lüften lassen. Er riecht zu Beginn noch etwas streng. Das mitgelieferte Zubehör zum befeuchten (Schwamm und Pipette) ist super, wobei ich bevorzuge eine Schale Wasser oder gleich mehrere für die Inbetriebnahme über 1-2 Tage reinzustellen, anstatt den das Holz darin direkt zu befeuchten. In meinem Fall hat eine Schüssel destilliertes Wasser gereicht, um nach einem Tag die von mir angestrebten 80% Luftfeuchtigkeit (laut mitgeliefertem Hygrometer) zu erreichen. Ich kann leider nicht bestätigen ob der Hygrometer genau misst, zumindest weicht er etwa 4% ab von einem TFA Hygrometer was ich als Referenz auch mit reingestellt habe. Das ablesen fällt je nach Blickwinkel schwer, das Display ist grauenhaft. Trotzdem ist das Gold ein Hingucker, denn auch der Befeuchter und die Scharniere sind in Gold gehalten. Definitiv ein edles Erscheinungsbild.Noch ein Tipp: der mitgelieferte Befeuchter ist ein Schwammbefeuchter. Ich habe die Kassette geöffnet und den Schwamm rausgekratzt und durch Acrylpolymerkristalle ersetzt. Hat wunderbar funktioniert und ist definitiv die bessere Wahl, zumal der Geruch von dem Schwamm darin etwas unangenehm war (meiner Meinung nach). Der Humidor hat sich jetzt mit den Zigarren und Befeuchtern darin bei 70% eingependelt, was ich als optimal betrachte. Zudem riecht er jetzt auch wunderbar nach Zedernholz und Zigarren, also genau wie ein Humidor riechen soll. Die Optik macht definitiv was her, der Farbton ist in Natura jedoch etwas dunkler als abgebildet auf den Bildern bei Amazon ersichtlich.Es passen auch tatsächlich 50 Zigarren rein, die Frage ist nur wie es dann aussieht mit der Luftfeuchtigkeit. Allemal, für den Preis ein wirklich tolles Produkt für Zigarrenliebhaber.

My first humidor as I’m new to the world of cigars. Simple to set up. Looks good. Humidity levels easily achieved. Had it for about a week now and it’s perfect.
