Good quality kit
All good - fits nicely and stops down the aperture correctly on two genuine Olympus lenses 50mm and 200mm. I bought this to replace a Fotga (hersmay) item that was about £8 cheaper but junk - this item was returned as it did not stop down the aperture properly and had losts of sharp edges. K & f stuff is generally good quality - i wish i paid the extra and bought this adaptor first

Good but expect a learning curve.
I have used manual lenses from 7artisans and old m42 film lenses, I have to admit, this is a little harder! Not through the fault of the adapter bar the fact I wish it had a tripod bracket - the weight balance is pretty scary on a large macro lens. Build is pretty nice. The image quality is good and it's great that you can stop then lens down with this adapter. Only problem is, and not the adapters fault it's a technical limitations, you cannot see and tell what aperture your at, you have to guess. It's frankly a bit of a painful wind up to use, but if your not looking for fun and just want the performance of some amazing Nikon glass you used to love, that is enough. I think it's good value, and if your going to adapt a Nikon lens this is the best performance to value, you can get amazing photos with a lot of effort and patience. If you don't own Nikon lenses yet, go down the K&F m42 adapter route it's much more fun. I wanted to use a sigma 70mm and despite the technical caveats I think it was worth the price to keep that lens in action

Bit Stiff getting it on and off my vintage lenses but works well
The Fd to M43 adaptor is well made and comes in a nice box. Fitting to my Lumix G7 was a little stiff but that might be the newness of the Adaptor. I found it even tighter fitting to my vintage lense and for a minute I thought one was stuck but that might be me as it makes a difference in the 'locked or open' position of the adaptor. I did take it out in the garden and took a few shots with two of my lenses. The pictures are all at !00% magnification to show the clarity and colours of these wonderful lenses on a M43 camera with this adaptor. UPDATE> I decided to buy another of these adaptors and take another chance that the first one was a one off. This second one is perfect, it just nicely locks into place on both the lens and camera a Lumix g9 the same when undoing it, perfect. Also I must say that there wasn't a problem returning the first one and I got my refund within a few days.

How do they do it for the money?
As many have said this adapter is beautifully engineered and has a solid no-nonsense feel and weight to it. It has its own plastic clip-lid box. This (together with a Nikon G adapter from the same company) was the second I ordered in two days as I found a M42 lens just after I had ordered the Nikon adapter. They are both superb and literally - if you look at the illustration on the box lid - do what the box says they do. In the case of the older screw in lens attachment takes seconds and the installation is firm and solid. A few words of caution however. Your camera and the lens it has available for it have been designed as a system. Everything is balanced in terms of size and weight - things you considered and appealed to you when you bought it. Adding a lens not designed for your camera will throw all out of balance - literally. In addition lens designed and made decades ago were the best they could be for the price at the time. Their performance was often stellar, sometimes rubbish and usually OK. In some ways these lens can be seen as motor cars from the 1960s. You may admire a classic sports car like an E-type Jaguar or similar. You may have had one at the time and remember how it performed or you may simply want to drive one. But the experience may not be as you remember or imagine. Your beautiful head turning sleek car is probably very uncomfortable by today’s standards. You may not be able to find some where to drive it to the maximum. It may become a ‘Sunny Sunday’ car, only coming out when the weather is perfect and sitting in the garage most of the time. Your old lens may be like that sports car. ‘Good glass’ optimised for film cameras from years ago may be unforgiving on a digital sensor. Modern focusing aids like peak focusing may not always work. Your idea of getting a cool looking cheap super telephoto lens by using an adapter on a 2x crop sensor in practice may result in a ‘monster’ you can use only in certain specific, limited circumstances. And as stated at the top of this review your camera may feel heavy and unbalanced - something to consider, especially if you have small hands or arthritis. But if you have read this far and are prepared to accept that you may not get an award winning photo first time - or indeed ever - simply want to experiment and at the same time improve or recapture your photographic skills and not rely on your modern digital camera doing all the thinking, then your camera, this adapter and that lens in the garage or cupboard or drawer will get along fine. And best of all you will have fun and may even surprise yourself.

Very impressed, can't be faulted.
I am extremely impressed with the quality of these adapters. I have 5 now, and while they might be a couple of pound more expensive than some others found on ebay, when you hold them in your hand, you know you're getting good value. They are all precision machined metal, with high quality finishes, and the control rings on adapters that have them, have a very satisfying action to them. For dumb adapters (ones without electrical contacts for modern lenses), getting anything more expensive than these adapters is a waste of money. They do everything you need and couldn't possibly feel more sturdy or satisfying to use in my opinion. Note: if you want an adapter for a nikon ai lens, the nikon G adapter also works, the aperture ring just doesn't do anything. I use the one adapter for both ai and g lenses.

I'm using this to adapt my Minolta SR mount (MC and MD) lenses to my Lumix GX85. The adapter fits onto the Lumix MFT mount great with a smooth twist and just enough resistance. Some of the SR mount lenses fit a touch stiff though and I worry about breaking the aperture ring when trying to remove these lenses from the adapter, as it is sometimes hard to find a good place to grip the lens. Fortunately, these vintage lenses are built tough, and it hasn't caused issues yet. Whenever swapping lenses I remove the adapter (with lens still attached) from the camera body first. Then I swap the adapter to another lens before I put the lens and adapter back on the camera. That way the stiffness of the SR mount doesn't stress the MFT mount. None of my lenses have any looseness or play when attached with this adapter.

I have a bunch of this type of adapter. -Mostly converting to the Sony e-mount system, but I picked up this one (for a Panasonic Micro 4/3) and it is just as good. What a way to very affordably expand your collection of prime lenses! -Old Canon FD glass is all over eBay, all for around $50 to $80. (A year ago, it was even cheaper.) I figured, "Why mess around with $1000 modern lenses? For a third of that cost I can get a collection of excellent primes." For a multi-camera studio setting where auto-focus is more an annoyance than a benefit, this has been a really rewarding option. These adapters make that possible. I find it amusing to think that none of my old primes were ever intended for videography, but here they are! Anyway, they work without flaw, are well-constructed and offer a tight fit, but as others have mentioned, they can be a bit fiddly to sort out how to make them function correctly with the F-Stop ring. (You have to install it in the "Open" and not the "Locked" position.)

Bene!!!
