I use the J hook to pick up one ear and then usually can pick up the other side with my hand. It's very sturdy and well made. I got this one as a spare, my original is still going strong after 5 years. It fits comfortably in my small hand and I appreciate the weight as it doesn't bend while using it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This was inexpensive and handy. I've used it and it works well.

Very pleased with hive tool. Nice thickness, no way will this bend or break. Sharp scraping edge. Hook good size for lifting frames. Recommend this product for fellow beekeepers.
