My old solar twin spot-lamps gave up the ghost last week after many years of service, one lamp lit up my back door and the second was angled to show my side entry where I keep my wheelie bins. It’s very dark in autumn and winter, hence the need for outdoor lighting. I couldn’t find any like for like solar dual spot-lamps, so decided to take a gamble on this curved design. First thing I noticed when taking it out of the box was how well constructed it is. The second thing is that the solar panel was only half the size of the unit it replaces but a lot more modern looking, and the light itself is a decent size. The whole unit took less than 10 minutes to install. I let it charge from the days sunlight and waited for the Sun to go down so I could try it. I’d angled the curve in such a way that I hoped it would light up my back door area and the side passage. When it got dark I went outside … WOW !!! the light is as intense as a car headlight, and the curved shape lit up everything and more that I had gambled on it doing, the whole of my patio and the side passage all lit up as though a car was parked in the back garden with its headlights on ! This is an impressive piece of kit. Footnote as of 17 Nov 2022: now that we are getting less sunlight hours, I half expected the Solar charged batteries in the unit to perform less well - that has definitely NOT been the case at all. The light has remained as bright whenever it has been on demand during the night, even on dull days. I have angled the solar panel to catch as much sunlight as possible facing south, low in the autumn sky. The solar panel will swivel up or down, so worth adjusting it as the Sun sinks lower through the Autumn and Winter.

This is very bright and a very white ( maybe 6000K ) light. Nice long cable to solar panel and the fixings are strong. Both the lamp and solar panel been outside in all the heavy rain we have had recently and still working fine, so seem waterproof. I installed this to cover a dark spot for our Eufy CCTV cameras ( which if enough external light will change from infra-red to colour at night as they have a low light sony starvis chip ) , but because the light is so white and bright it washes out the faces of anyone in the frame, so may have to change it for a less 'white' lamp, maybe less than 4000K. If you are thinking of installing the lamp in a shed etc remember that the light sensor is on the solar panel and not the lamp, so unless it is dark where solar panel is installed the light will not trigger., there are lamps available with light sensor on the lamp head - just check the spec and the answered question / reviews.

This lamp has a great design as the whole light panel is the lamp and is not surrounded by any frames.I've had this lamp for 3 months and it hasn't gone wrong even when there isn't enough sun or it's raining. The sensor works really well. I shall order some more for the back of the house.

I bought this hoping to use the light inside my shed with the solar panel on the outside.Sadly the light only comes on once the panel on the outside doesn't sense any light so even in dusk it doesn't light up the inside of my shed.Will have to try something else. :-(

Very easy to put up. Comes with a decent length of wire from panel to light. Picks up smallest movement and gives of a bright light.
