Q: is this suitable for covering a motorcycle saddle?

Yes, you can use it for a motorcycle but it depends on what seat your comparing it to. For a very strong, expensive high quality seat then no. However, it will work as it will resist constant usage. I used mine on a recumbent cycle machine for the seat & back. Don't expect it to withstand leathers & zips though.

its a sort of off white/grey colour on the inside!

I would think it would hang well as a cape - it’s thick enough to hold its shape but not too thick to be cut to shape.

Not sure but it is quite heavy if you buy enough of it plus I think some things are more expensive to send to Ireland. Postage within the UK is expensive enough though! 😣
