Cheap build terrible clutch
Had the predecessor of this reel the XTC and the new version is worse in every way, the so called quick drag is a joke takes 4 full turns to go from free running to locked up. It’s just a standard clutch, though a very bad one, free running isn’t it’s about 15% drag setting, locked up isn’t either it’s about 25lb, you cannot lock this reel up. Reel feels flimsy huge play in reel handle, bail arm bends like a piece of cheap plastic. This reel will cost you fish, the clutch is extremely jerky I’ve got 30 year old Mitchell’s with a better drag than this (and they weren’t that good either). Shimano are now a rip off company they’ve had their last £ from me.
