Review: I really love it - I have few Bible stories at home, but they overlooked lots of details in the story, this one is really different in a good way!! Very good explanation of each story, nice format, easy to read and my kids love reading them by themselves. This stories are written in a way that my kids feel that they are part of that story too. Once again very good written, detailed which leave my kids with good imagination of what the story is about, which leads us to a good Bible study with kids!!! Review: Beyond "Fear": Why child psychologists (and my 7yo godson) love this book - The Jesus Storybook Bible, Anglicised Edition by Sally Lloyd-Jones is a rare gem among Christian children’s books. While it is not a full-text Bible, it is a masterfully written collection of Bible stories that truly makes every narrative whisper His name. I recently bought this for my 7-year-old godson, and his reaction says it all: "It is one of my favourite books and it isn't even funny." This is high praise from a boy who usually only engages with humorous chapter books; it has captured his heart and mind in a way no other Bible storybook could. A New Perspective on Understanding The is clear that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all understanding, but this children's Bible storybook helps a child understand this "fear"more concretely as a profound, reverent awe of a God who pursues us. While the author takes some artistic liberties with the Bible stories - as other reviewers have noted - she does so to emphasise God’s "Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love." Crucially, she shifts the focus from a list of rules to a grand Gospel-centred rescue story. According to child psychologists, this emphasis on love rather than abstract fear is highly developmentally appropriate for 4-10 year old children, as it provides the emotional security needed to process complex faith concepts. It stands to reason that for children who have experienced any kind of trauma, this focus on a "Never Stopping Love" is doubly important. I have no idea if the author herself is trauma-informed, but her text definitely is; it offers a safe, healing, and consistent lens through which a child can view God's character. Why I Highly Recommend It: Accessible Theology: It reframes complex biblical themes into a narrative of a "Brave Rescuer," making the core message of Scripture for kids accessible without being "twee." Stunning Illustrations: Jago’s vibrant artwork perfectly complements the poetic, Anglicised text, making it a visually engaging Bible for toddlers and primary-aged children alike. The Perfect Religious Gift: Because it connects the entire narrative into one cohesive arc, I highly recommend it as a meaningful infant baptism gift, Christening present, or child dedication gift. This is a beautiful, informative resource for family reading that helps children (and adults!) see that true understanding begins with knowing how much we are loved. It is easily one of the best Bible story collections available in the UK today for those wanting to share the heart of the Christian faith with children.

Lovely book for yound children
I bought this book to read to my 8 year old grandson, we're not a particulary religious family, but he had asked me a few things about the bible, so I thought I'd give it a go and he he really enjoys the stories, and can understand how they are relevant in our lifetime. It's written really well for children to be able to understand and I would definitely reccomend this book for young children. 👍

THE best Bible for children
If you read any book to your children this should be it. It is an excellent, clear retelling of significant parts of the Bible in simple straightforward language. Both my boys loved listening to the CD or having me read at bedtime from the ages of 4 up. Each story is simply told and ends with a simple pointer as to how the story fits into the 'bigger story' of God's redemptive plan. Granted there are perhaps a couple of unnecessary embellishments to which a few object, but on the whole this is the best Bible I have seen for young children (or older ones who are not familiar with the Bible)

Beautiful
Beautiful and engaging for little ones. My daughter just started reading and goes back to this book every day. The illustrations are gorgeous, stories engaging and easy for young kids to follow but not oversimplified.

Read this to children's church group, 4-7, great book. I did skip some of the more 'weighty' stories, like Abraham sacrificing Isaac. Great illustrations! The copy I purchased said 'anaglasized' version. Not sure what that means. A prior addition did not state that.

This is one of the best storybook Bibles I've ever read ~ in fact, I even used it when I was teaching an adult Bible study because the story was so well written and inspiring.
