A good last stage product
I’ve been looking for something quick to use for in-between major car cleans and my internet research pointed me towards Sonax BSD. A few weeks ago I clayed and hand polished the car. It must have been looking good as it attracted a couple of comments from friendly passers-by. Anyway since then we’ve had a bit of rain and the usual accumulation of dust and grime has appeared and taken the shine right off it. After a quick wash and towel dry I went around the whole car with this product and a couple of micro fibre cloths. It did a great job and the car was looking absolutely mint again. It took around 20-25 minutes to go around a hatchback at a leisurely pace, including the roof and paying attention to detail. I used one cloth to apply and had a couple of fresh ones on hand to buff off. It has a pleasant smell and is generally nice to work with in my opinion. A lot is made about this product being tacky. I suppose it is, but only relative to similar sprays that are super slick. It’s not that bad. The spray nozzle doesn’t help as it’s more of a squirt than a spritz so you’ve got a very uneven distribution before you even put cloth to panel. Use sparingly and build up slowly would be my advice. I applied Sonax BSD a week ago and the car is still looking good. It seems to be fairly versatile as I cleaned my composite door with it too. For the price it’s definitely worth a try to see if it works for you. It’s exactly what I was looking for - something quick to top up the shine and last longer than a day or two. Recommended. Update- So according to my purchase history I bought this bottle 3 years ago. I’ve just bought another. In the intervening years I’ve used it to great success, however these days I decant it into a fine spray bottle and mix it 1:1 with water. This is the best way to apply it in my opinion. I don’t use it every time I wash the car (sometimes I’ll use a wax) but out of all the products I’ve used the combination of shine, water beading and longevity is outstanding.

A little goes a long long way
I cant comment yet on longevity as just received. Try and watch video of this product on YouTube. Other comments have said it can streak or have high spots. I used directly on a damp micro fibre towel. Then buffed with a clean MFT. Just a light mist on the towel and a panel at a time. I just smiled when I stepped back to admire my handy work. I have tried similar products and none have made the car look as good. Don't over use, less is more. Apparentlly you can leave it an hour and layer it up. I may try this. I have a black SUV and went round it carefully in only 15 minutes. When I sprayed directly it does take some working but on a damp towel it was easy. Just shake the bottle well as it came separated in the bottle. I tried some water on the bonnet and it sheated straight off. Itarrived quicker than expected. Has a pleasant aroma. I found a good quality MFT best to buff with. I will update if the longevity is an issue but no hardship to reapply if nessacary. Update. I have mixed up on a 1 to 5 ratio with water to use a drying aid after washing. Again making sure I shook the bottle. First impressions were top draw. Gave it a deep shine and repelled water and beaded. Didnt grab the cloth as some people have stated but having layered the Sonax directly on a damp MFT I had no grab on the cloth. Still smiling at my handy work. UPDATE.. Still smiling into August. Religiously my go to drying aid afters service washing the car. Neighbours have commented on the finish and think I have spent hours polishing. Just dilute, apply to wet car and dry with a micro fibre drying towel.

Insane
Having tried every product sold in the popular high street car shop, I have over the past few years been trying lots of different products off amazon. I've got 3 vehicles that I try 3 different products at once on. I've always done the t-cut and Carnauba wax and the cars look great after hours of graft.. However.. I treated one vehicle with a armour ceramic liquid wax, one with TW wax it wet and one with this product, all after washing. All looked just as good as when I wax the cars, all were fairly easy to apply. None were any better than the others at producing a showroom shine, they all looked the same. Which is what I would expect given that's what they all claim. The ceramic comes in a small bottle and almost all gone on 1 vehicle. The TW wax it wet, over half a bottle gone. This Sonax I used about 15% of the bottle on 1 vehicle. So value for money it's winning. After a month and 2 washes, the TW no longer beaded the rain water. After 2 months and 4 washes the ceramic no longer beading rain water, though noticeably lasted longer than the TW. After 2 months and 2 washes the Sonax is like i had just first applied it. Only 2 washes because it didn't get as dirty as quickly as the other 2 vehicles. So i coated one side of one of the vehicles in the sonax and one side in TW to see if there was any difference on the vehicle experiencing the same road usage. Yep, the sonax side beads like mad, there are no bugs on that side and it's definitely not as dirty. After years and years of trying different products, i am now without any doubt sticking to this one. Washing the car seems to only take 10 minutes now because the dirt wipes off so easy. It looks like you've just polished it after it's cleaned and it was still like that after 2 months. The bonus is that it only takes 10-15 minutes to apply and you don't need much either. It's a win win situation. Now it's not perfect I will admit. The ceramic did make the black plastic look like new for 6 weeks, which this sonax doesn't, so I will use the ceramic on the black plastic for now. Also, the sonax will highlight any minor scratches that the ceramic seems to cover up, and they tend to be to be scratches in the lacquer, so if any do appear, just needs a little time spent t-cutting them to get rid of them. Overall this product whatever it is, out performs all the others really well, and so easy to apply. No more days wasted polishing and waxing the car, when I can do it in 15 minutes with this, with the same if not better result.

This is one of my favorite paint care products and it's quite versatile. Undiluted, it can be used as a spray wax/sealant and will offer a few weeks of protection and good water beading but you'll need to spray one panel at a time, spread the product, then buff it off before moving to the next or it will blob and smear as the product is quite thick. For use as a detailer, I would recommend diluting 1:1. My favorite use however is diluted 1:2 as a drying aid on a protected car. Just spray the whole car after washing while still wet and then dry as usual. Your drying towel will glide over the paint which reduces swirling and you'll also be topping up your paint protection at the same time for that "just waxed" look after each wash. I am not a fan of the sprayer though as it tends to squirt rather than mist the product so I use it in a different spray bottle.
