Seltzer water / Crabonated Juices...pure and simple.
You know, I have read a number of reviews and am honestly baffled that there are any complaints. The design and use of this valve cap is genius. I would like to share what I have and how it works so others might benefit.I love carbonated drinks and have been looking for a way to fizz my water and various juices. After scouring the web, YouTube, and reading a bunch, I was resigned to the fact that I would either have to build a carbonation unit using a tire air valve, or purchase a SodaStream and only be able to carbonate water alone...not juices like Fizz Gizz. When I found Fizz Gizz' website, I was first impressed at all the information he provided. Not only did he explain the mechanics of carbonation, the differences between his product and others, but also demonstrated how to make one of your own...without buying his product.I went ahead and bought (June 2012) the CO2 carbonation cartridge unit and (THIS NEXT PART IS IMPORTANT) a FIZZ GIZZ Downstream Hardware for a conventional CO2 tank and pressure regulator (I bought a 20LB CO2 tank), and five of the white valve caps and five of the black ones (I always like to have extra in case I lost it or one failed). Although the hand-held carbonation unit worked/works fine, I liked the notion of having continuous, uninterrupted carbonation, and that's why I bought the FIZZ GIZZ Downstream Hardware for a conventional CO2 tank and pressure regulator. I literally have NONSTOP extremely carbonated seltzer water, or NONSTOP extremely carbonated juice/any liquid. With SodaStream you only get to carbonate water and add your flavoring to the carbonated water. My Fizz Gizz let's me carbonate water or different juices.Of the ten total caps purchased, eight remain in the drawer unused. Why you ask? Because the two caps I started off using are still working perfect to this day. Keep in mind I am constantly using them every day, carbonating water and juices for the family. It just works! Perfectly at that!If I have ever had any questions, my emails have been answered within an hour. I can only say that the FIZZ GIZZ Downstream Hardware and valve caps have been one of the most frequently used and reliable items I have purchased for my kitchen and I am thoroughly pleased. Don't hesitate to buy the caps, valves, hardware, or anything for that matter. It simply works!Regards,Eric

I  my Fizz Giz
The item shown here definitely is what you get. That is the injector cap.My less-than "all star" review is based upon an issue that could be a killer for some users. You see, when you gas up a bottle, that cap gets to be really tight. It takes a fair grip to get it loose. Thus I cannot recommend it for chicks and sissy men, or generally anyone who does not have a strong grip. Sometimes I have to resort to using a wash rag to grip it. One might find an aftermarket gripper, or Mr. Fizz might see about a new and improved version with a more agressive pattern on the outside of the cap. These caps do not last forever, but they are plenty cheap and you get whatever quantity you want for the one shipping charge. I used 3 for the better part of a year. I gas up 2 to 4 litres a day, and I use a Soda Rope model and go about a month between charges. Refilling a paintball at less than $5 gets you more gas than a Soda Stream exchange for $15.The gas source is worth a bit of discourse. I have 20 and 24 ounce paintball bottles. It has been quite a challenge finding a good reliable place to get them efficiently refilled. After visits to a half dozen Academy stores and one Dick's, I have been completely thru all manner of run-around until I found one Academy that does good most of the time. It really ticks me off when they insist that you pay and get a receipt before you can find out if the gas rig and tech are working. One of them dropped or banged my bottle one time and messed up the brass, so I suggest you inspect every time before and after! If I had to start over, I might consider a 5-10-20 lb cylinder and skip the Fizz Giz. For now though, I enjoy the heck out of it and my water with gas almost every day. Rating some of the more popular ways of fizzing, from most expensive to least would go something like this:Cuisinart: OutrageousSoda Stream: ExpensiveFizz Giz handheld: ExpensiveFizz Giz paintball: CheapBig cylinder: Really cheap

Works very well
I read the reviews and compared and contrasted against more expensive soda dispensers on Amazon and I decided to go with the Fizz Giz because it seemed small, easy-to-use, and took cheap cartridges and store-bought plastic bottles... but mostly because it was less expensive overall. I am pleased with the decision. It works well - actually it works very well. I made multiple batches of home-made root beer and they came about really nicely carbonated. Compared to my usual method of using yeast (which takes a week or more, leaves a yeasty aftertaste, makes the root beer mildly alcoholic and results in less than stellar levels of carbonation), the Fizz Giz is way way better. It's nearly instantaneous, and I couldn't taste any unwanted tastes from the C02 and the root beer was very well carbonated with a good sharp level of C0. About the only negative - and this is covered in the instructions but I didn't know about it in advance - is that the caps don't fit all types of plastic bottles. I had a bunch of Schwepps Tonic water bottles that I wanted to use, but I couldn't get a good seal with them. The instructions recommended Pepsi and those bottles worked much much better. But I had hoped that any 2L bottle would work and this doesn't seem to be the case.Overall, I recommend it. Small, cheap, easy-to-use, and the results are very good.
